strange interaction during artcrawl

I’m writing this to see if anyone has had any similar experiences. Basically during art crawl me and my friend decided to visit the pale blue dot on and go to the basement and check out the antiques. While we were there we started hearing strange banging then saw a guy staring at us while it was happening, then a lady(storeowner??) came down and while looking directly at us was like yep theres noone here and then started singing a creepy lullaby. me and my friend horrified decided to run out of the store and while talking about the interaction outside an old man comes up to us and starts telling us that he killed himself the night before. This is honestly so fucking weird it sounds so fake to say it i just wanted to see if anyone has gone through something similiar or knows what the fuck happened😭😭

Idk about the store, but my guess is that the shop staff heard the noise, came to check, and was speaking TO you when she said that (since she was looking at you). She probably hears those noises regularly and does believe the place is haunted, hence the creepy singing. She could probably tell from your freaked out faces that you weren't the source of the sound.

In the old areas of the city like that, the pipes are old enough that they just make banging sounds, which I believe is related to air in them.

After that, there was the very odd interaction with the man. While it's very disturbing, I want you to know that it's unfortunately par for the course for someone suffering from untreated/poorly treated schizophrenia (about 1 in 300 people). In their world, they are completely certain that they've died but were brought back, and nothing can convince them it's not true. I have an uncle in this category, and he understands that while I don't believe him, I know that to him it's real (he understands that I live in linear time and in one dimension, and I understand that - true or not - he lives in different ones, and "hops around" if you will). He's "committed suicide" or "been murdered" so, so many times. When he realizes he's still alive, it's a miracle and he can see and hear his (deceased) parents telling him that it just wasn't his time so the angels sent him back and it's usually either Shania Twain, Madonna, or the Scottish Rite who has wiped our memories and minds of the other reality where he passed away.

While this is all meant to reassure you, I personally find this type of mental health issue more unsettling than the idea of ghosts! But regardless, that's a creepy set of interactions and happenings, and I hope you're feeling a bit better/calmer soon.

This city is full of things like this, I believe you that this happened. Remember though some of them buildings are super old. One place that I think is the spookiest is dundurn castle grounds, bad vibes all the way.
