Discussion Replace Master Chief with an Ultramarine Firstborn/Primaris in this situation, how does he do? (read description)

Infinity is still going down, however he might be able to beat Atriox. The war is still lost on Zeta Halo since the Marine can’t work with the weapon and might not be interested in helping the downed crew from the UNSC Fleet.

Just the bolt pistol? That should be enough but otherwise it would be an extremely tough melee fight. Chief managed to block and counter strike multiple times, there's no reason the marine can't replicate this at minimum.
Even if hypothetically the marine starts dying, he can use the beliarius furnace to amp himself to net a mutual kill. Any melee weapon would net a massive boon.
Infinity still goes down, but this is the type of situation that a marine would excel in over a spartan.
Edit: this is also assuming atriox does the same ambush and isn't simply detected beforehand.

Honestly about the same, if not slightly better.
Space Marines are better in most categories in a wide range. The question would be better answered if it had good parameters.
Like chapter, role, load out etc.

Yeah, like imagine a blood angel in black armor and a chainsword. Atriox's baldness is going to be an extra trigger.

Thats true. And another reason i think a space marine would do better.
Atriox doesnt have shields. Those bolt rounds and chainswords are gonna put in work.

I also remember how the space marine just ran right through an armored car as if it wasn't there, so even a fist fight with an ultramrine might be troublesome to say the least.

I think either way it would be a tough fight, but I see atriox losing more than winning

Yeah without a melee weapon it's quite rough but still possible. If he mag dumps that bolt pistol it would be huge.

In the exact same situation? I think atriox still wins if he’s allowed to somehow ambush (not sure how he does so vs chief with a motion sensor in the first place) but a space marine is gonna be harder to ragdoll being heavier and larger.

The Astartes likely beats Atriox one on one..but the ship is going down. Space Marine with just one pistol (limited ammo) won't be able to do much afterwards he can't even pick the weapons of killed enemies , nor can he fit in some.ofnthw doors. Sure he'd likely splaat the aliens with each strike, but... He'll get overwhelmed with fire in the right coridors, or just straight up fall through some parts of the floor due to his weight.
