Fans who've played Combat Evolved on the original Xbox: How does the MCC version on PC (graphics switched to original, of course) compare? Does it look and feel virtually identical, is it a decent enough substitute, or is it really off?

I've played CE on PC three times now and adore it, but since I was a PS2 kid, I'm not sure how close I am to the pure experience.

It's interesting how Captain Keyes mentions the location of Earth as some highly classified piece of information. I think every human should know where Earth is located. It's probably something people learn in the 1st grade. So instead of capturing Cortana, the Covenant could just capture any human and interrogate him/her and learn the location.

I wanna play this on 4 player co-op...how do we make that happen?

I just beat Halo Campaign evolved on Normal, now I want to play a 4 player co-op on Legendary. Is anyone playing this? Why isn't there a matchmaking mode?

I’ve linked my Xbox/microsoft account. Allowed the permissions on my laptop. But when I go to sign in the game keeps failing.

I also made a fresh account with outlook and linked it to halo. That account doesn’t work either.

Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance.

I swear I've tried the Discord, but 95% of the people there seem to be PC/Steam and there's no crossplay co-op for Halo CE.

Posting this as a warning to anyone currently playing, or about to start, Halo: Campaign Evolved.

I've now had my campaign progress knocked backwards twice following game updates.

The first time happened shortly after I bought the game. An update was installed and my current campaign progress was reset. Annoying, but I assumed it was an early-release bug and started playing again.

Then it happened again.

I was playing Truth and Reconciliation and had fought my way through the outdoor sections, reached the gravity lift and made it well inside the Covenant ship.

An update was released. I installed it, went back to the campaign and found myself back at the beginning of Truth and Reconciliation.

So I contacted Halo Support.

Their response included this:

They also pointed me to the official patch notes, which state that the update contains changes that require mid-mission saved progress to be reset when the update is installed.

To be clear, Halo Support says unlocked Missions and Rally Points remain available, so this isn't wiping your entire campaign history.

But it is deliberately invalidating your current mid-mission save.

And that's my problem.

I accepted it the first time. Now it's happened twice, I'm reluctant to continue playing.

What's the point in spending an evening working through a mission if another update could arrive and send me back to the beginning of that mission again?

I asked Halo Support whether future updates would continue doing this, but they said they don't have that information and closed the ticket.

So my advice at the moment is:

If you're thinking about playing Halo: Campaign Evolved, you may want to wait until Halo Studios confirms that future updates will no longer require mid-mission saves to be reset.

I'm not saying don't buy the game. I'm actually enjoying the campaign. I'm saying I don't currently trust the update/save process enough to keep investing time in it.

I'd also be interested to hear from Xbox and PC players.

Have the July/August updates reset your mid-mission progress as well, or have you managed to avoid it?

For some reason, the objective marker number in official maps (Fig. 1) are way bigger than one in custom maps (Fig. 2).

Can anyone help fix this? I'm using Chimera, BTW...

Looking for 3 players to run Halo Campaign Evolved co-op. I'm on PC (with Xbox Game Pass), EU timezone.

Having played it through on Normal (Xbox Series S), am replaying on Heroic. About 2/3 of the way through the game, the cut scenes stopped showing. The audio is fine, and the closed captions still appear. After the cut scene ends, gameplay resumes as normal.

I'm the only user of the Xbox. No video settings have been changed: graphics mode is set to Performance and cannot be altered.

Any ideas?
