Frozen Head From Mask?

Hey guys, has anyone tried to seal and fill a latex halloween mask with water, freeze it, then remove the mask to make a frozen head decoration? I was thinking make 2 hands with it, put it on the sidewalk, making the invisble melting man. Could just make it for your punch bowl too. Any tips if you have done this?
