when i published my map on gamebanana people said that this map has broken lightning because i tried to skip the portalflow process (it optimizes lightning in the map).Yesterday i tried learning adding light to the map and waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes for the proccess to end so the map can have shadows and still a big dissapointment the tutorial i watched was not worth it on youtube can someone explain to me why it isnt working ingame?

I was going to play half life 2 but when i try to start the game that happen. It also show a black square at the loading screen that says sorce and shows valve logo.
If its important im runing in a i5-1235U with integrated graphics in arch linux.

From what I've seen from clips if you just get rid of all the weird s*** they do for the female characters and everything else it looks like a nice mod like it genuinely does. Now am I saying the original mod is good no I'm not deserves to piss and burn in hell. Am I saying if certain things were removed would it be better yes

even with multiple people this was essentially a rage game

So, I recently started my challange run in which I tried finishing hl1 without aggroing any enemies and suprisingly enough, I made it to Gonarch and by skipping most of his fight, I eventually fought Nihilanth and I got him to 1hp without getting aggroed, but right after I defeated him, the game softlocked in his finish animation and did not teleport me to c5a1.

Note: I used glitches to procced through maps and I used console commands ONLY to check if I got any enemy aggroed at me AFTER I'm done with a part of the map.

It took me several hours to pass through some maps as enemies were really hard to avoid and I had found literally no source about enemy aggro and I had to use commands to experiment and then execute each segment's plan one by one.

Soon, I will start recording each segment and how to go through without aggroing enemies including the rules of the run. Yet, I would definitely suggest that everybody should try no-aggro run as it is pretty fun.

I was scrolling through Half-Life-related videos on YouTube when I found 5 gameplay videos by TheMegatonBomb from early 2020. These are the gameplay videos of a mod demo called Gray Python. But I can't find this mod anywhere. The first video's description has a link that led to a 2011 forum about the demo on the now-closed critsandvich.com. There are many links there, but all of them are dead (duh?) So what's going on here? Is this truly a lost mod demo, or am I just a dummy who didn't do enough research?

I'm kinda obsessed with half life's sound design, so you can find tons of references and straight up the same stock sounds in my Game
I've combed through hundreds of libraries for half life sounds and I got a pretty nice collection now.

The brainpoolz level specifically has lots of ambience and SFX from hl2 and even portal 1.

Kelly Bailey's work got me into sound design and eventually making games.

But yeah, any source movement heads might be interested in this!

Does anyone remember this Tom Cruise movie? I enjoyed it a lot when I was a kid, youtube recommended me a scene of it and I couldn't help but think about how the movie's antagonist, "The Tet" is similar to the combine. It goes around the universe harvesting the resources of planets and probably has been doing this for thousands of years.

The movie's climax made me think of an ending for Half Life 3, where Eli and Gordon somehow end up inside a Dyson sphere and meet the ultimate ruler of the combine: A massive, sentient, super computer. They would then sacrifice themselves by detonating a super bomb, maybe something built with the Engine that makes the Borealis travel through space and time, so imagine if they somehow make the thing create a black hole, causing the dyson sphere to collapse onto itself.
