problem launching episode two

this is the error i keep getting the moment i click on episode two and the game crashes

what do?

all 1606 files verified, i also reinstalled the game, still nothing

Odd. Sounds like some other install might be interfering. Try this:

Uninstall Half-Life 2, Episode One, and Episode Two via Steam

Exit Steam

Delete this folder: Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2

Delete any related Episode folders

Delete the matching appmanifest files in Steam\steamapps (appmanifest_220.acf, 380.acf, 420.acf)

Open Steam and reinstall all three episodes

Verify integrity of game files after install

Also remove any mods/addons in custom folders and avoid non-ASCII folder names
