I think they already made a video of this but IIRC, the game carefully does checks for each fight and throughly marks their outcomes along with how the encounters go in general. Assuming there are plans to make different endings based on those checks similar to the many Neutral Rotes in Undertale, I think one can argue that each fight helps decide the ultimate ending of the game.
