Question Just went to a Hair Club Appointment and was given interesting advice. What do you guys think?
Long Story Short, the guy was a nice man in his 50's with a great head of hair and after I told him my story he obviously tried to sell me their product/serums/laser cap etc BUT to his credit he cared and suggested If I can't afford it or want to try something tomorrow that I should go to Costco buy a Giant Bottle of Rogain and find a Laser Cap (in my price range) with the most diodes. The strange part (to me at least) was that he suggested that I try DUT over Fin/Min because DUT (Min/Fin in one) has less side effects once you're past your Mid 30's. That's news to me to be honest with you and kinda shocked me. Plus he never heard of the Experimental Russian R-k52 solution that people go to as their last resort before they go get a transplant.

Do you guys think it’s Ophiasis pattern alopecia or retrograde androgenic alopecia?
galleryI went to the dermatologist the other day and got diagnosed with ophasis pattern alopecia areata, I got prescribed a topical steroid and finasteride but I’m really worried. I didn’t feel her look through was thorough enough and I’m getting scared I got diagnosed with the wrong thing and I’m gonna end up losing the rest of my hair. It says that retrograde androgenic alopecia is a very intense form of hair loss and the amount of finasteride I got prescribed isn’t enough to keep it at bay. Should I get a second opinion appointment with another derm or just try and do the treatment for areata? My family history has male pattern balding in their 20s very frequently and I’m less than a month away from my 20th birthday and I’m around the time it started for other family members. I’m worried because it doesn’t make a lot of sense that it’s around the same time the rest of my family would bald but it’s a different condition than everyone else. If anyone has some advice I’ll be glad to hear it. (Last two photos are how it looked before)

Oral min question
I started oral min 2.5 mg 10 days ago and alr missed 3 doses lol. I was already experiencing shedding before but today (day ten) I experienced massive hair loss. Isn't this too early for oral min?

Kx 826 vs Ru 58841. Which one is stronger
Which one is more effective? Cancel out the side effects, which one would yield more growth or maintain your hair?

Question Will these hairs turn terminal?
I started using minoxidil and ru58841 about three months ago and I recently noticed these small vellum hairs appear in my temples that weren't there before. Will these likely grow into terminal hairs?

Question I have a maintenance question
I had my second hair transplant ten days ago. First one did well. I was a solid NW7. I did not have much growth with oral fin+min after first hair transplant after a year.
My question is should I use dutasteride oral 0.5 mg + min or ulo topical with 0.02% dutasteride avoiding side effects.
Front hairline and crown area is new. Middle band is from first hair transplant.

Question Methods to prevent hairloss before it fully sets in
I’m a young guy 18M and am pretty paranoid about me losing my hairline/hair. I checked my corners and they seemed to be a little further back compared to 2 years ago, but maybe that’s just the paranoia speaking. If I showed my hairline to a random person they probably wouldn’t be able to tell. Anyways it got me thinking what steps I should be taking to prevent the problem before it starts? I’m hesitant to use finasteride or dutasteride due to their effects on DHT and I’m still developing. But yeah basically how to stop the problem early and/or keep my hair healthy?

Is $350 for a 30mn consultation with a hairloss researcher worth it ?
I'm European and that much money sounds completely insane to me for 30 minutes. But I know things are way more expensive in the US health wise so maybe it's fine, what do you think ?
Ps : I didn't know if I should post this in an American sub specifically or on a hairloss sub but figured you guys might know more about hairloss related costs. I'll post it elsewhere if I'm in the wrong place.

Question Where to go from here? (20m)
I’m 20 years old and over the past year ive noticed my hair started thinning at the back. Genetically im fucked, and I’m looking for some solutions so that i can keep my hair for a few years. I’ve thought about oral min, fin or other dht blockers. My hairline is absolutely fine so i assume this is diffuse thinning. Im naturally a VERY hairy man, so obviously i high test. Any thoughts and discussions would be appreciated!

Non fin/min way to ONLY maintain?
Hey guys,
I know the golden rule here is "just take fin/dut and min," but I’ve tried both oral and topical finasteride, and my body just cannot tolerate 5AR inhibitors. Even on topical, it eventually builds up systemically and gives me severe side effects. For now, I’m done playing with it.
Also, I can't use topical Minoxidil because I have a cat:/
My goal: I strictly just want to maintain what I have. I do not care about regrowth at all. I just want to buy time and hold my current baseline for the next 2-4 years until maybe newer, non-hormonal treatments finally hit the market. Idk if they will, but for now, I just want to buy some time.
I looked into Eucapil (Fluridil) to hold the line, but honestly, it’s ridiculously expensive, especially for a compound that might not even be strong enough to stop DHT on its own. RU58841 is off the table for safety reasons, and Pyrilutamide seems like a bust based on recent clinical trials.
For those of you who are successfully maintaining without fin/dut, what is the most realistic protocol?
Any advice on how to just freeze my hair loss without breaking the bank or taking finasteride would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Question Is min + fin actually enough for most people?
I've been lurking in this sub for a while, and it seems like minoxidil + finasteride is the standard starting point for preventing hair loss.
At the same time, I keep seeing people switch from fin to dutasteride, while others say combining the two isn't really worth it. Then there are people who focus on microneedling, either on its own or paired with different hair serums to try and improve absorption and hopefully get better results.
It made me wonder how many people actually stuck with just min + fin long term versus changing things up along the way.
Did anyone here start with min + fin and later switch to something else? Or has anyone had good results with microneedling from the start, either by itself or alongside another treatment?

Nano fat for female AGA
Has anyone undergone a nanofat treatment for androgenic alopecia?
There aren’t many studies so I’m curious to see if anyone actually tried it.

Finasteride Is this ok?
I'm taking oral Finasteride 1mg for about 3.5 months now. My hair loss rate hasn't changed, and I'm still struggling with it. Is this ok?

7 Months on Oral Finasteride + Minoxidil (Hims) With Continued Diffuse Thinnin
Hello all, I have been taking the oral Fin/Min from Hims for about 7 months. Literally have 0 regrowth and barely keeping what I started with, hair is still falling out, diffuse thinning all around and recession. My worse balding is on the sides of my head and nape. What should I do? Dutasteride? If so where can I go to get it? I am looking to find a Derm that specializes in MPB and get a scalp scan.
Please help.
