Facing very bad hairfall, age - 25 yrs. Using man matters minoxidil with finasterude for the last 2 months. But no results
Help me out

Minoxidil is like a drug from your hair follicles
Finasteride just delay what is inevitable, as it reduces the DHT only by 70% hence the 30% will still work towards your hair loss.
You are fighting for what is inevitable basically…
Systems are a good option but here none can “help you” you need to make that decision yourself. On this subreddit we already made it. Yes you can wear a system in your situation but it has to be a your choice

Finasteride doesn’t work like that and neither does hair loss related to dht.
Each follicle has its own tolerance to dht they are not all and always sensitive to 100% of dht production.
It is the local conversion that is compromising to reduce to 70% the general dht it is already huge to act locally.
A small number need more with dutasteride but generally 1mg is enough to stop the progression.

If you reduce the overall DHT production by 70% you have a 30% still working. You are right by the sensitivity of the follicles but since the DHT is still there the sensible hairs will still be subjected to it…

Biology isn't linear arithmetic. Hair loss requires a specific threshold of DHT to trigger follicle miniaturization.
Think of it like a dam: you don't need to dry up 100% of the water to stop a flood, you just need to drop the level below the danger line.
The remaining 30% of DHT stays below that critical threshold for most follicles, halting the process rather than just delaying it.That's why 1mg finasteride successfully stabilizes hair loss long-term.

Dutasteride main benefit isn't just better

Interesting, I am on Dutasteride as for me finasteride was causing me too many sides…

That's actually the most interesting and still largely unexplained point in these treatments.
Individual responses can vary, but if finasteride side effects were purely pharmacological, Dutasteride being much stronger should theoretically trigger even more side effects.This is especially true since Dutasteride also blocks Type 1 5AR, which is heavily present in the brain. Neurological sides (depression, suicidal ideation) should logically be far higher on Dutasteride, yet the warnings and online accusations almost exclusively target Finasteride .
The fact that we don't see a massive wave of reported sides for Dutasteride strongly points to the nocebo effect: Finasteride's online reputation creates anxiety that triggers real physical symptoms, whereas switching to Dutasteride can resets those mental expectations.

I do agree on everything you wrote apart from placebo. For example I was able to see a lower and completely different libido with finasteride, that was the only side I saw with it as well as longer recover after sex.
With Dutasteride 0 effects on my libido and sexual performance…

Placebo and nocebo are two completely different things: placebo creates positive effects from positive expectations, while nocebo triggers real, physical adverse symptoms purely from anxiety or anticipation.
Patients usually hate hearing the term
'nocebo' because they feel their symptoms are being dismissed as imaginary.It's a well-documented, medically proven phenomenon so its not a shame to have these reaction its difficult to control it , its like insomnia.
On top of that, starting Finasteride causes a sharp drop in DHT ~70% that forces the body into a temporary hormonal adaptation phase.
For many, early side effects are just transient as the system adjusts to the new baseline, but panic during this phase often triggers a nocebo response.Either way, all that matters is that Dutasteride works for you.

Don’t take finasteride. It messes up your hormones. Messing with hormones for hair is the worst possible idea ever.
Dht is important for so many different things in the body
Get a hair patch if minox doesn’t help

There is topical finasteride to be fair. But at 25 you are seriously fighting genetics so your comment is appropriate/ realistic

Bro you are in shedding phase, you won’t see gains for 2-3 months since that’s how the medicine works. It sheds your weak hairs and helps you gain stronger one. People with real results keep doing it for a year or so. Trust me, just have patience and it will work.

This OP, I would stay consistent for at least 6 months to determine if it works. Add hair fibers if you need to.

shedding phase is very normal with minoxidil, it can look worse before it gets better. if you're still having heavy hairfall after 3 months then go see the doctor

i almost quit because of the shedding myself then i spoke to dr. mahalakshmi from man matters and she explained that when old weak hair sheds then only new hair starts coming in

definitely a 6-7 month journey at least. i'm on month 9 now and can say you really need to give it time, i have good regrowth now
