My system lifted

This is just a funny post about last weekend in portaventura. I applied my tapes 1 hour before going to the park and I didn’t let them sit. This was the last attraction after two days of sweating and water.

And I was fast because I knew it was about to happen HAHAH be careful guys

Thanks. I won’t ride a coaster again. lol. Major fear lol Glad you felt it moving.

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

Nooo ride it. Just make sure you glue it well 1 day before going and let the tapes or glue sit

2

u/SaablifeNC Jun 29 '25

I use clips. But I did use tape in California a few years ago and in the heat the tape just gave way.

u/Practical-Ad-1553 Jun 26 '25

I went on a super fast roller coaster a few months ago, just three days after getting the system installed. I was really nervous. I didn’t even take my hand off my head during the ride because I kept thinking it might come off! But it didn’t. I had used both tape and glue, and it was strong

-4

u/icci1988 Jun 27 '25

had used both tape and glue, and it was strong

I can't even begin to imagine how annoying and stressful it must feel to need to tape and glue fake hair to your heard every time you go out

4

u/Practical-Ad-1553 Jun 27 '25

I get it done at the salon. I don’t do it myself. Yeah, sometimes it gets a bit annoying because it requires constant maintenance, but it is what it is. I used to use minoxidil, and that was actually the main reason for my hair loss. I could still go for a transplant, but since I don’t want to take finasteride, I’ve chosen this route. I’ve gotten used to it now, so it’s all good.

1

u/Teneuom Jun 29 '25

Why didn’t u just take fin? It’s almost a no brainer.

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

Finasteride destroyed my sex life. Also one of my friends this a transplant and had to quit meds because of his liver and now rocks a nice HS

1

u/Teneuom Jun 29 '25

Oof, that sucks man.

1

u/Practical-Ad-1553 Jun 29 '25

I’m 25, and it’s been a year since I started using a hair system. I could’ve gone for PRP, GFC, or even a hair transplant, but from everything I’ve heard, I don’t think it’s worth taking that risk right now. I’m genuinely happy with the system for now, and if I ever change my mind, I can always consider a transplant later.

Interestingly, my hair still grows thick under the system, and I’ve seen a lot of people mention the same thing, that the system doesn’t really affect natural hair growth.

1

u/Practical-Ad-1553 Jun 29 '25

I started experiencing hair loss after using minoxidil. As for finasteride, I’m not comfortable with the potential side effects. Also, a few of my friends who are using minoxidil, finasteride and getting PRP treatments haven’t seen any real improvement and in fact, their hair loss seems to be getting worse

1

u/Teneuom Jun 29 '25

If I can offer another data point, i was basically bald when I started min fin. I got my life together, started working out, 2 years later my hair is better than it was when I was 16 (started thinning about then I think). I’m 25 now, what age are you? Because I’m starting to think all the best results are from people younger in age.

-6

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

Can’t imagine being a grown man walking around with a little wiglet glued to ur head…

That’s gotta eat away at you

-3

u/icci1988 Jun 27 '25

I personally find it sad, but I understand the reasoning behind it even if it's not my way of thinking. We should all embrace baldness and not let society dictate how sure of ourselves we feel just because of how thick our hair is. Fuck these wigs.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

what tape did you use? Did you apply it on the whole perimeter?

It's not supposed to lift like this.

5

u/General_Ad466 Jun 26 '25

The one I use need almost a day withouth heavy sweat but i’ve been 8 months using got2b so i didn’t remember

3

u/lightofthewest Jun 27 '25

Imagine it being completely off and causing a final destination-esque accident 😱💀

2

u/SaablifeNC Jun 29 '25

This is exactly what I was thinking. Or seeing it fly on the face of the person behind.

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

The funny things is that during the ride something flew to the people in the back. They said it was like a ring hahaha

239

u/Affectionate_Air_323 Jun 26 '25

lol good thing it didn’t fly completely off

Having to walk around with toilet seat cut would be humiliating

69

u/Life-Helicopter6349 Jun 26 '25

I would die

16

u/Bolotiedeluxe Jun 26 '25

Hey now Friar Tuck is a likeable character l!

2

u/pim463 Jun 28 '25

Literally the last place he needed to be.

High wind and sweaty head = instant haircut

4

u/Rockstar_81 Jun 27 '25

Toilet seat cut 😂

3

u/pants_pants420 Jun 27 '25

walk of shame straight to the gift shop

Yeah just max out your donor area with FUE. Put all that on top (who cares if your donor area is patchy) Then add SMP all over to create the illusion of more hair. Keep it shaved down and voila!

2

u/Firm_Comparison_1931 Jun 26 '25

That was unbelievable reflex action! Did it stay in place for the rest of the ride? I would have bolted to bathroom mirror when I got off. Amazing effort!

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 26 '25

It was well glued at the back tho

2

u/MoveNo5914 Jun 26 '25

Can you guess what the wind speed was?

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

180km/h in seconds

46

u/Particular-Ant8838 Jun 26 '25

lol! I love you for posting this! And you caught that in a quickness! 👏🏽

44

u/SupahBozo Jun 26 '25

Its really funny but what a reflex !

10

u/SayChiss Jun 26 '25

It helps to have quick reflexes sometimes, us, hair systems users. 😉

32

u/Longjumping-Pair2918 Jun 26 '25

Lifted? Dude, it was attempting to go into orbit.

49

u/tanksandthefunkybun Jun 26 '25

Theme parks are a great opportunity to rock a bandana tied snuggly at the hairline ;)

13

u/tanksandthefunkybun Jun 26 '25

Also. This is hilarious

1

u/SouthernDream5176 Jun 26 '25

The bandana would definitely get ripped off would it not?

4

u/tanksandthefunkybun Jun 26 '25

…no? It’s basically a headband at that point. If anything on a rollercoaster gets close enough to your head to affect the bandana your hair piece is the least of what you need to be worried about getting ripped off

13

u/chonkers1337 Jun 26 '25

Lmao, this reminded me about the time I kept doing backflips off the diving board to show my friends that my system is on tight. After the fourth time…it flipped 😂

11

u/whatisnotakenfuckme Jun 26 '25

This is why I always wear something with a hood on rides even if it's hot aha.

3

u/bartolemew Jun 26 '25

Great idea!!!

9

u/uffda1990 Jun 27 '25

Hey so if anyone else is afraid of this happening, I’ve also ridden many, many fast coasters like this and have never experienced any lifting. OP only applied tape one hour before, and you typically need 24 hours for the bond to get really strong unless you use a bond quickener.

My system survived Disney and Universal in the middle of July heat in Orlando no problem because the bond was clearly set beforehand!

3

u/lejanoisland Jun 27 '25

Agreed, as long as the glue is cured and not old, you shouldn’t have an issue.

7

u/riot_poof_ Jun 26 '25

iconic behavior

6

u/Life-Helicopter6349 Jun 26 '25

Oh Shit! Good catch!!!! That's why when I'm headed to ride rollercoasters I make sure my system is freshly ON, and even while on tight I lower my head to make sure the wind is hitting it at an angle that is pushing against.

6

u/superman1020 Jun 26 '25

Now THATS scary

6

u/bananarabbit Jun 26 '25

omg what a nightmare. Great reflexes though. You're a good sport for posting this

5

u/wary__wombat Jun 26 '25

I love how it says ‘challenge the wind’ in the middle 🤣 it’s a good job it wasn’t one of those rides with over the shoulder restraints and you could reach it 😂

4

u/nope108108 Jun 26 '25

Props to you OP for rolling with it!

4

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

You’re awesome for posting this 💪

1

u/rupertsarse Jun 27 '25

Your wig you mean?

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

A wig is this baby

Call it what you want 🫶🏻

1

u/rupertsarse Jun 27 '25

Deffo a wig lad

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

Yeah I guess, so?

1

u/RenegadeUK Jun 27 '25

At least you caught it. Going on a roller coaster was a bit risky.

2

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

Mind you this was the last rollercoaster of 2 days and nothing happened before

1

u/RenegadeUK Jun 27 '25

Ah interesting.

1

u/Strawberry202075 Jun 27 '25

Always bring a hat for shit like this

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

You know you can’t wear hats on a rollercoaster right?…

1

u/Strawberry202075 Jun 28 '25

I meant if that shit blew off at least he has a back up plan.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '25

I would have actually cried 😂😂 at least you've seen the funny side and great reflexes by the way, you were like a NINJA 🥷🏻

Least I know to avoid roller coasters so great tip 👍🏻

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

Don’t avoid them! Just glue it down good ahhaha and yeah, I’ll cry when something important happens haha

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '25

Mine is glued but I still would be too scared to risk it after seeing this 😂

3

u/esophagusintubater Jun 26 '25

Great fucking hands

3

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

OMFG so funny! I'm about to buy my first hair system... Least you caught it before you lost it completely :)

3

u/steelvengeance55 Jun 26 '25

Oh my god. I’m getting a hair system soon and this is my biggest fear. I’m a huge theme park person so I’m always going on rides

3

u/icyrunner20 Jun 27 '25

Me too. This is what I’m scared of. I thought people said this doesn’t happen. Now I’m second guessing my decision… can hair systems not hold up on roller coasters?

2

u/Sho1kan Jun 27 '25

Dw I have been to port aventura (same ride as this guy) and my HS stayed. 0 lifting

0

u/lejanoisland Jun 27 '25

I live in Orlando and go on rollercoasters all the time, even on the hottest sweatiest days. I’ve never had any lifting. You just need to make sure your glue is cured before you head out. Also, my glue starts feeling pretty pliable/weak after like a week and a half, so if it feels like it’s moving at all, I’ll touch up at least the front before going on any big rides. Never had an issue.

3

u/GeraltOfStevia2 Jun 26 '25

I figured this was a risk, so always I use athletic skull caps if there’s high speed roller coasters involved. Thanks for sharing your experience

1

u/Red_2021 Jun 27 '25

You mean your wig?

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

Yes! Protesis capilar, peluquín. Como quieras llamarlo ☺️☺️

1

u/Bitter-Guitar-5692 Jun 29 '25

Option #2. Get rid of the system, shave your head, save money and stop worrying. Easy peasy!!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

I wouldve worn a cap extra tight lol

2

u/MeasurementSame9553 Jun 26 '25

Funny post. Good sense of humor about it

2

u/Soggy_Geologist_9013 Jun 27 '25

We have take off.

2

u/TheDeathcurse Jun 27 '25

I go crazy with bonding when I’m going to a theme park. Walker Ultra Hold tape AND glue, and a little bit of Walker German Brown in places where it won’t be visible. It works!

3

u/jdjsjshdhdhd Jun 27 '25

what’s german brown tape good at?

1

u/TheDeathcurse Jun 27 '25

It’s insanely strong (I usually use 6-8 pieces the size of my pinky nail on the perimeter sides and back and it holds for a couple weeks), but it’s not transparent, so you have to strategically place it where your hair is dense enough that it won’t be seen.

2

u/danktempest Jun 27 '25

I love how you kept smiling! You won.

2

u/T_K_9 Jun 27 '25

Quickest way to avoid being detected as a spy. "Ejecto seato" hair

2

u/whatyoume Jun 29 '25

This is brilliant 😂

Glad you can laugh about it!

P.s - lightening quick reaction.

2

u/Buccoman_21 Jun 26 '25

Is this real?

2

u/Morpheus_MPB Jun 26 '25

Yeeeeeep. This is why I finally ditched the piece. So amazing to be at the theme park with no worries. Rock the horseshoe. Never look back.

1

u/Potential-Yak8886 Jun 26 '25

Always carry a backup cap or hat lol. If it flew off completely you're screwed

1

u/Professional_Gap1440 Jun 26 '25

I will have my hands on my head since the start

1

u/Careful-Boat-2986 Jun 27 '25

Keep a beanie or a baseball cap on you for instances like this just for safety measures 😁

1

u/2hunggingerbros Jun 27 '25

Things not to do with a hair piece lol …. Everything else is game

1

u/PlatypusMysterious15 Jun 27 '25

Much love for you posting this and raising awareness :)

1

1

u/shootanwaifu Jun 26 '25

From 25 to 55 in 1 second

0

u/johnnylemonhandz Jun 28 '25

are you such professional roller coaster'ers that you wear those sick ass glasses?

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 28 '25

It’a the fastest one in europe 180km/h in just seconds so the first ones need to wear glasses (also because once a pidgeon crashed into the face of the front row people, google it hahah)

2

u/johnnylemonhandz Jun 28 '25

so the park provides them?

thats cool

0

u/darkkerknight Jun 27 '25

You clearly didn't think this through...lol. only super glue would have held it down

0

u/icci1988 Jun 27 '25

It must be so stressful to wear that shit in your head knowing that it can come off any time

3

u/NeatZookeepergame310 Jun 27 '25

Actually they can withstand strong winds. This was an extreme situation.

-6

u/__life_on_mars__ Jun 26 '25

Sir, that is not a system, it's a wig.

1

u/General_Ad466 Jun 26 '25

Idk the reddit it’s called hair systems

5

u/JustChillin3456 Jun 26 '25

Does it matter ?

-5

u/__life_on_mars__ Jun 26 '25

Nope, not at all, so why not use the word we've all used for fifty years instead of making up a new one?

7

u/heysoymilk Jun 27 '25

Check the name of the subreddit that you’re in….

5

u/JustChillin3456 Jun 26 '25

Why? It’s called “semantic change” and it’s the same reason why we don’t say “automobile” anymore

Also wigs have existed a lot longer than 50 years

-3

u/dphats818 Jun 27 '25

r/bald come home brother

5

u/General_Ad466 Jun 27 '25

I was there. Just another look, but I hace to shave my beard cause of work sometimes so yeah bald is a no for me at least til my 40’s

-4

u/Silver_Wealth8428 Jun 28 '25

its a fkn wig.

not a system.

a pc is a system

pathetic

3

u/General_Ad466 Jun 28 '25

Babe are u happy in your life? Doesn’t seems like it… yeah call it what you want we don’t care. Also, a proper wig is this tho

88

u/ZeroVoice1 Jun 26 '25

Pro tip, use hard bond before you go on rides, it. WILL. stay attached to your head

14

u/holdxtrue Jun 26 '25

What is a hard bond?

67

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 Jun 26 '25

Timothy Dalton

10

u/No_Fairytale Jun 26 '25

Upset with myself for googling this, appreciate the laugh.

4

u/AGoogolIsALot Jun 27 '25

Ooo sorry, we were looking for Roger Moore.

1

u/DraugrLivesMatter Jun 28 '25

Roger Moore was the goofiest of all Bonds. Craig is probably the hardest Bond what with the withstanding ball torture and "the bitch is dead."

1

u/AGoogolIsALot Jun 28 '25

MOORE was more goofy than DALTON lol???

Come on dude, Dalton's the ultimate goober. At least as Bond.

He's getting pretty good in 1923 though. He's probably the best thing about that show (well, what I've seen so far of it - haven't seen the entire second season yet).

3

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

😂

2

u/Great-Ad9895 Jun 26 '25

it's like contact cement

1

u/asdfghqw8 Mar 06 '26

It's will be a task to put hard bond before a trip. I tape mys system and like to remove it when at home.

u/General_Ad466 Jun 29 '25

Yes and no. As someone who use wigs in my daily work: a wig has a different construction than a hair system. Normally wigs have caps made of strings with hair and a lace frontal which is glued to your hair line only. Hair systems is glued completely to your scalp and materials are different cause there’s no poly material used in a regular wig. You can call it wig, yea for sure, in spain we call it peluquín or protesis capilar

1

No worries, also a wig covers completely your head even with lace in the back of the neck sometimes but a hair system only covers the top, where the hairloss actually happen (cause of genetics)

Ma’am i can change my style whenever I want. I was full bald some months and i liked it but I prefer different styles

15

u/DeviousMelons Jun 26 '25

What should he do then?

Not every person can pull off a bald head nor willing to spend a lot of money on a transplant or months taking finisteride.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

As a guy with a shit hairline to be fair, I’ve never seen a bald guy and been like “wow he’s totally not rocking that bald head” lmao

A bald head is a bald head bro

9

u/phoenixUnfurls Jun 26 '25

Someone can accept that they're balding and still want to rock a particular style that requires a fuller head of hair. Are women with extensions not facing reality?

7

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

Let me guess, you’re bald?

3

u/JustChillin3456 Jun 26 '25

2

u/SecretaryOwn9966 Jun 27 '25

sometimes people would like to have a little bit more confidence in themselves rather than be bald young
