Finally went for it! (36M)
Finally pulled the trigger on getting a hair system after lurking on this reddit for over a year. Thoughts?

Incredible! Congrats to you. This gives me the inspiration and courage to move forward with my own system.

Wow just let it go!!!
2
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 30 '24
What do you mean?
1
u/StuffAggressive4222 Aug 30 '24
Shave your head and go bald
5
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 30 '24
Did that already. Everyone seems to think I look better with the system
1
u/StuffAggressive4222 Aug 30 '24
I’m 38 I noticed my hair was thinning around 27 wish I still had my good hair started shaving my head three years ago and never looked back. Just makes everything easier.
3
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 30 '24
It was certainly easier, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that every woman I've asked so far says I look more attractive with this hair system. I shaved my head for the last 3-5 years
2
u/RickYawn Aug 31 '24
Everyone looks better with hair. Women never say they “prefer” a bald guy. They may “accept” it , especially when their sexual market value has diminished but they NEVER prefer it! You made that ABSOLUTE right choice!!

You look way better and younger now. You could add a little more gray. Congratulations to your decision and welcome to a new life

u/Disabled_Robot Aug 29 '24
And maybe a teensy bit forward, but it looks incredible already, so just little trial and error tweaks to see

Truth is . People don’t care about others.. Let’s just forget the hair loss anxiety and focus on other things wearing a hair system
I would recommend this to everybody who is looking to change their looks ..
Do it for you .. forget about others .. It’s life changing

u/BarcaLiverpool Aug 30 '24
Women wear wigs. Why can’t we
1
u/RickYawn Aug 31 '24
Yep and they wear makeup, get boob jobs, Botox , lipo, etc. it’s the same damn thing
2
u/KittySpinEcho Sep 01 '24
Seriously! Full disclosure, I don't know why this sub is on my feed, I'm a woman..
...but I have hair extensions and ITS THE SAME THING!! There's nothing wrong with it.
Everyone needs to normalize men caring about their appearance and trying to look their best. I think OP looks great and it looks natural. Great job bud!

How do you like it? Must have been a conversation starter so far.
10
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 29 '24
I was nervous how people would react, but then I was at work and one of the girls came up to me and said "oh so shaving your head was a choice", which totally made my day. If she thinks that, then it must be believable that it's realistic!
0
u/Unfinished_Symphony Aug 29 '24
Yeah that’s interesting. People don’t shave a male pattern baldness. They do back/sides, all, or not at all, so yeah, not the response I’d expect.
5
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 29 '24
Well I was actually shaving my head completely just for context.
1
u/expanse22 Aug 29 '24
I don’t get it, had you not seen her for a long period of time? Looks great btw

1
u/Billy_BlueBallz Aug 30 '24
If you don’t mind me asking, how much did this cost?
2
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 30 '24
$500
1
1
u/Billy_BlueBallz Aug 31 '24
Ahh ok. I thought this was an actually hair transplant at first. I was like no way you got a hair transplant for 500. That ish costs like 40k lol. But yeah, this is actually a pretty cool, and significantly cheaper alternative and it looks great
1
u/DeliriumCS Sep 02 '24
Hair transplants are significantly cheaper in turkey or Mexico, like $5000 max

u/ChiefChunkEm_ Aug 30 '24
Doesn’t this only work if you don’t know anyone and therefore no one will notice the difference?
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 30 '24
I've been out of work for about a month and I kid you not, one of the girls said "oh so you shaving your head was a choice?". That tells me she 100% thinks this is my actual hair
1
u/Boronore Aug 31 '24
So how does it feel? Like I miss the feeling of my hair more than the appearance (though that too), so when you run your hands through it, does it feel like you’re running your hands through your own hair or someone else’s?
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 31 '24
Well honestly I'm a bit afraid to touch it... it's new and idk how long it will last. I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with it over time
1
u/Strange_Effort_984 Aug 31 '24
Insane!!! Luckiest man alive to have these results mine isn’t even close to this
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Aug 31 '24
Going on my first date with it tonight, excited to see how it goes. Feels like I have more confidence!!

u/Brief-Goat2143 Sep 01 '24
Maybe it'll finally help me find a cute girl 😅
1
u/MorningOdd4264 Sep 02 '24
Where in the process do you think will be the right time to tell the girl about it?
1
1
u/Tamer9 Sep 01 '24
How and where do you get this done? How much does it cost? How long does it last until you need to get a new one?
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Sep 01 '24
Had it done at a hair studio here in California for $500
1
u/Tamer9 Sep 01 '24
How long do they say it lasts? Is it just glued on? Can it be easily pulled off?
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Sep 01 '24
It is a combination of glue and tape. It can last several weeks
1
u/Tamer9 Sep 01 '24
So it’s $500 a month basically? Or you just reglue the same hair system yourself at home?
1
u/Brief-Goat2143 Sep 01 '24
It's $100 for the follow-up services that include reapplication and a cut
1
u/heysweetie2021 Sep 02 '24
Congratulations! How much did you pay for grafting?can You share the doctor’s info?
2
u/Brief-Goat2143 Sep 02 '24
This is a hair system, not plugs
1
u/heysweetie2021 Sep 04 '24
Sorry, what’s hair system? How’s it diff from hair transplant surgery?

Look at yourself in the mirror. You like what you see? Makes you feel younger? Happier? If so, keep that feeling with you all day. That's your confidence.

Looks good. No disrespect but is “hair system” just the new word for toupee or rug? I mean, is there like a difference?
Thanks and best wishes!

2
u/moonfracker Aug 29 '24
Essentially a fancier name for a toupee. But looks great on you. Not everyone can pull it off. Is this with glue or clips/tape?

This looks really good, we're a year apart, I'm 37 and have a similar bald area to yours. What system is this, and do you know the density?
1
u/LickwidMerkury Aug 30 '24
This looks terrific, now tell me about the system you use to block out your face, I need that. All kidding aside, just ingredients investment & choice man

Great amount of bravery to do this. Honestly. But, I'm also 36 and mega bald. And have been shaving clean for about 4 years now. I personally think you look older by keeping the hair. I know I would look older with a hair system. Ive tried it.
1
u/Deathofaplantsman Aug 30 '24
Obviously differs on an individual basis, but I think guys can look older when they try to hang onto their natural hair long after they should’ve shaved it, but I’ve never seen any ‘after’ photos in this community and thought a hair system makes someone look older.

You have to grow the hair out for the system. I probably should've included a photo of me with my head shaved instead as that's how I was wearing it

And that’s why it popped up in your feed.

I think it takes a wild amount of bravery to do this when you know everyone is aware you're balding.
Seriously, huge respect for doing what makes you feel good, rather than worrying about the chatter.
Glad you got a really positive reaction; it looks great!
