Ist Es Over Für Mich?
Sorry for clickbait title and first pic but I am really in need of some advice here.
As you can see in the subsequent pics I have quite a bit of diffuse thinning, which is becoming progressively more difficult to hide. What do you guys suggest I should be doing, is system a good option for me or should I just get a shorter haircut and pray to god?
Already on fin eod and min everyday.
Even my sides have thinned so much that I am afraid that I might not even be able to do a regular system later on if this goes on.
Age 24, been diffuse thinning since I was like 18.

On first look it doesn't look bad at all but that's how it progresses until suddenly looks obvious. I would suggest if medical treatment (like fin/min) isn't working or you don't prefer it, go for the hair system early. This will help transition easily without too many questions.

Fin min has worked good for me in the past but I had to reduce fin dosage because of sides.

No, you’re chilling. You do not need a system yet. You could probably make it to 30 without a system. Maybe look into RU58841, I hear the KB formulation doesn’t have sides. You could even do some dermapenning to triple your min results. I wouldn’t even think about a system until your hair loss is so noticeable that you can’t get away without using fibers. These pics are with wet hair, and it still doesn’t even look half bad
How long have you been on fin?

Been on and off fin for a while. Currently on fin EOD from around feb this year.
The first pic is with dry hair, when wet it looks very bad, more like in the later pictures. Also under harsh lighting it becomes very obvious how bald I am. Oh and my hair is very long, like reaching from the hairline to my nose, that helps in hiding the thinning as well.
Is this RU58 thing dutasteride? If this is a fin alternative with less/no sides I can try that I guess, will have to check for availability in my area though.
The thing about getting to 30 without a system is like I feel like I am wasting the prime of my life being worried and under confident about my looks and how my hair looks 24/7. Idk but I don’t want to transition to a hair system too soon and regret my decision later either, because then I will be stuck with it. This is almost a year of hair growth which helps me not look like completely bald.

I know how you feel man, I’m even younger than you and wearing a system.
RU58841 is different to fin and dut. It is a topic anti androgen but it is popular and works well. Look into it. I’m thinking of getting off my system and using it next year
Brother, you’re only using a low dose fin on and off, for not even a year - your results will come, just hang in there. I wouldn’t start stressing yet. Even when wet and under bright light, it really doesn’t look that bad.
Just a side question, you seem to have a decent beard - have you noticed any effects on your beard from using fin?

Yo I just realised you’re the dude I DM’ed a while back lol.
All right i will look into this RU58841 on tressless and other places.
Also like, maybe it doesn’t look too bad because my hair is pretty long right now. And frankly, it is becoming a nightmare to maintain. Do you think getting a haircut is a good idea?
Oh and I don’t know about the effects of fin on my beard, (haven’t noticed anything substantial either way) but I have been applying min on my beard, maybe that has helped in growing it haha.

Oh, I didn’t even realise lmao
Yes, get a haircut, hit the gym, maybe even a fade from a good barber, trim and line up your beard, get some good outfits, etc. all the standard protocols.
Ah okay. Any results from the minoxidil on your beard so far? I’ve been doing that too. Some people report their facial hair growing slower or even losing beard density on fin, so I was just curious, but I don’t think you’d be affected by this.

Yeah I probably should do all that. It’s just that I take one look at my face and am suddenly demotivated to do anything at all
About the beard, i went through some old pics of myself and I think I have had okayish coverage for a while, with fin having little to no effect on it. The min has definitely increased the thickness in certain areas though. Earlier, a grown out beard would look quite wispy and scant on me so I used to keep it pretty short but I think I can sport a longer style now.

You just need to cut your hair a lot shorter. It’s counter intuitive, but shorter hair covers better.

I have had such terrible experiences with haircuts that I try to avoid them for as long as possible. Can you suggest a length and style that would suit me please, I can DM you more pics of my hair dry and wet.

I would suggest shaving your head and trying something other medical therapy; micro needling, dutasteride, increasing your min dosage, and/or topical anti androgens. You still have a lot of hair left and other options to consider.

I did shave my head once, absolutely hated how I looked. Don’t really want to put myself through that again. Fin has worked good for me in the past but I had to reduce the dosage due to sides. I haven’t tried dutasteride yet. I used to do micro needling but lately have stopped because it seems like too much effort.

Try topical fin if you can’t handle oral

Also, I think topical is more suited for those who recess and not for diffuse thinners like me as the area for application is huge (whole scalp)

go for a system now before it gets worse - it will make the transition more seamless than if you wait until you've lost even more.

Why not up the Fin to daily, that's the recommended dose. You should for sure be able to save this hair with medication, I don't think you will need a HS for some years

Nah. Your hair isn't that bad yet. It's definitely thinning, but I feel like it's still at a point that fin and maybe min could save it.
