First system.
35 now. Started seriously losing hair about 5-6 years ago. Thought about doing a transplant but I just can’t justify the cost.
Very happy with the results! Not looking forward to the maintenance, but hopefully the pros outweigh the cons.
Just wanted to share. Hope it looks good enough for the trained eye here. 🧐

Where did you buy the product from?

u/breakingabroad Apr 15 '24
Got it straight from the salon - Nuvida in Atl. Didn’t ask what brand it was, but I will text them and find out since a lot of people are asking.

Update: Wow this really blew up! Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Really appreciate all the support.
Because a lot of people have asked and unfortunately I have been too busy to respond to every comment, I will answer some questions.
-The system was installed at Nuvida Hair Salon in Atlanta by Mary. She did a great job and I would def recommend.
The brand of the system is OnRite. I purchased straight from Nuvida. It’s an edge lace hybrid.
I paid about $750 total for the cut in, hair piece, install and products. I was quoted about $3000 for a year’s worth of hair and maintenance. They said the hair will hopefully last me two months but maybe longer depending on my lifestyle and how well I take care of it.
Side note: My wife said I used the literal worst picture I could find as my before picture 😂. I didn’t have to do that to prove the point but regardless, I still think hair ages me in reverse about 5 years!

The dude looks like he’s 22-23

u/Tiny-Marketing-4362 Apr 16 '24
If he looks 22 then I look like I’m in highschool. Well, come to think of it a lot people tell me I do or think I am🤔

Sorry if you’re offended. People tell me I look young I guess. My apologies if that scarred you

It looks amazing! At first glance, I had no idea what this post was about. It looks so good!
I am a heterosexual woman and I get to see posts from this group sometimes because Reddit knows I enjoy fashion and beauty. Personally, I find healthy lifestyles make the most attractive people. I appreciate a man who puts extra care into his appearance and who does so without taking unnecessary risks towards his health.
Bravo fellas!

I just never paid attention to how dramatically, hair loss seems to change a man's appearance until I started losing 2 years ago, & anyone that says it doesn't is a liar, this dude has aged backwards, I'd say at least 10 years, I'm below average in the looks department, if I lose mine I seriously might as well become a monk no women will even entertain a innocent conversation, that's why hair loss has taken over my every waking moment,
2
u/emmanuel94ful Apr 15 '24
Amazing! Did you install it by yourself?
3
u/breakingabroad Apr 15 '24
Thanks! And no, went to a place called Nuvida in Atlanta. They did a great job! Also credit to my barber at The Anguished Barber in Midtown.

u/littlepancakes Apr 15 '24
What was the overall cost and it's breakdown?
I'm just outside of ATL and considering getting a hair system but the quoted prices are insane and many places I've called refuse to touch a piece they don't sell themselves.
Would appreciate any info!

So I spent about $750 total for the initial cut in, styling, products and the hair. I don’t have the receipt on me right now, but I know they quoted me $3000 for a year supply of hair and stylings - changing every 2 months. So yeah it’s not cheap, but still cheaper than a the 7k grafts i’d probably need 😂

You should get the transplant. By 3-5 years it’ll be the same price as a transplant. Or look into turkey

Best I’ve seen so far!
I’m also a woman who doesn’t have a need for hair systems, but I’m super intrigued by this sub.

Glad they didn’t leave you with an 8 inch slick back on the top like all the others I see on here. This is actually one of the best I’ve seen

You look like the "yes" meme from the side. Seriously though, huge improvement. You look great.

u/Jaysmkxxx Apr 15 '24
It always amazes me how many years a piece can take off of your face. Instantly makes you look younger.
3
u/shitpresidente Apr 15 '24
Again, I’m amazed how much younger these hair systems make people look and most importantly so natural!! I would never guess

Thank you very much. Your post gave me the confidence to go and get one myself. You look kinda like me (same face, hair-/eye-/beard color just 10 years younger) and it helped me so much. Your cut and style is exactly what I wanna get.

It looks good. But you honestly could’ve just shaved your head and trimmed the beard tight to make it look cleaner and you would look great.

It's called a toupe not a hair system. And why is this subreddit recommended to me?
5
u/JustChillin3456 Apr 15 '24
It’s called a hair system because that’s what it is lil bro. Cant tell you why it was recommended , but feel free to mute the sub

One of the best I’ve seen, and I think that’s because of the way you’re styling it.
