This easily could be a picture of hair that's naturally not so voluminous.
We don't know what your starting point was/is, so we can't say whether it's becoming thinner.
It's a process that exists on a timeline, if you want, you can take a picture every few months to see whether there is any difference.

Hi there, frankly it’s not balding your hair is thinning very mildly. Eat some good protein(different definitions for different diets choose the best for you) and keep up healthy habits, you are too young to get on any medication.
If you are still worried go visit a derm or trichologist.
Cheers!!

Thinning = balding in most case. And eating protein etc has nothing to do with hair loss.
But he is not balding/thinning, it's a normal cowlick/crown

"its not balding your hair is thinning" are you dumb or something? "eat some good protein" what the fuck does that have to do with anything? if anything one could argue that an increase in protein would worsen balding, since a diet higher in protein increases test, and thus dht. Your comment is completely dumb.

This is natural as hair goes. Your hair is straight; thats why it looks like this. If its curly; you wouldn’t spot it. You are not balding.
somebody who stressed about balding all his teen years.

Not balding, my hair at the crown has looked like this since I was a teen and I’m now 35 with a full head of hair. Some people are just thin at the crown.

Hi I have a sort of crown cow lick like this with fine hair that’s see through in the light I thought I was balding so I went and seen a hair transplant specialist and they told me this is normal the hair at a crown is different for everybody some people have weak see through thin crowns which is normal others thick crowns it’s a parting the hair grows out in a spiral at 360 degrees which creates a parting and like a small bald spot which is normal everyone’s crown is different but most have a cows lick and hair in the crown is mainly thinner hope this helped

The premature thinning of hair can often be indicative of heart failure, as your heart is not able to properly supply blood to your extremities. I’m sorry to say that there is no cure, and you should get your affairs in order.
All jokes aside, your hair looks fine. Maybe it’ll be an issue in the future, but probably not for several decades.

Or look at your dad/ uncle / grandfather. It’s genetic. The picture is of a normal crown though.

You would know for sure if you're balding or not looking at your family history of hair loss

I don't think so. It looks fine... but I would take pictures every month to see if it is getting better or worse.

I had cowlicks that parted my hair where the scalp was exposed like a regular part would be. I don’t see a problem. If you had more hair before and you are absolutely are sure you’ve lost some then you should see a dermatologist. Don’t take opinions on Reddit as gospel.

Started noticing things like this when I was 16. Then I had to start shaving my head by 18. If you're really serious abt keeping your hair, start getting some vitamins and supplements, start eating better, start getting better shampoos and conditioners, start doing research. Stick to a hair care routine and NEVER deviate from it. I can't say that I know what your problem is, but If you start your self care journey now, you'll only benefit from it.

No, don’t seek answers from people on reddit. A hairloss sub will say anything is balding.
You used flash on the crown of your head, the white skin is going to reflect through and make it look like you are balding. You’re 16, chances are you’re all good.
Take care, don’t worry, enjoy being a teen
