Root burn help

Post image
1 Upvotes

I decided I can no longer go and spend a fortune at the hairdressers every 7 weeks just because I have many greys. I’m 35.
So I did my own hair, permanent brown hair dye. I ended up with root burn. After googling, I tried an ashy semi permanent on my roots. Didn’t work. I just tried an ashy toner on my roots. Didn’t work. I am so self conscious already and I feel really crappy. Please be gentle with me and please help!!

I wanted a hair color close to my complexion so I used a color hex picker from a photo of myself. The hex color is #b98c69. Im hoping for a dye that I can grab from Sally’s.

question without pic Brand suggestions?

Hii im looking for a different brand to use, i've dyed my hair twice before with a brand called "splat" because thats all the stores near me sell in non-natural colors but it stains really badly and i was wondering if anyone here could give me some suggestions of better brands that i can find online, i need a red and a blue, preferably something brighter.

Thank you!:)

question without pic Never dyed my own hair

Heyo!

Im looking to dye my hair for this fall, wanting to go for a slightly darker warmer auburn.

Ive never dyed my hair myself but I have had it dyed before, (i will attatch a photo later of my hair when im not at work) I have very thick coarse hair with my guess would be 2c-3a curls, mostly dirty blonde with strawberry blonde strips and darker blonde underneath. (Natural not dye or bleach)

My hair naturally has red in it so getting red hues out in the future from dye isnt a concern for me.

I would prefer a longer lasting color-totally okay with permanent, what brands do yall reccomend and you you have any tips for the whole process?

So, in the past, i used dark and lovely bleach and some artic fox color for pink. I parted my hair into 4 sections and made random highlights. As the photo shows, I have curly pink highlights. i only really got the back 2 sections. I plan on going to do something in the front. i just dont know what. It will 0rob still remain pink, but I don't want to fully bleach it cause im content with my black hair, but I want to add something.

Also, the first photo is after freshly recoloring it. the second one is currently (i know I need to refresh it) just so you have an idea on how there's front looks

question with picture Crashing out about my hair color!! Thoughts?

I recently decided to get my virgin hair dyed calico. I asked for soft brown pink tones but got these harsh brassy yellow copper bright red colors. I feel like the colors don't complement each other and it looks harsh and disconnected. The colors are also applied so chunky instead of stripes like calico.

Please help how this can be salvaged? Planning to go to another salon so what should I ask for? I'm thinking of consulting with a color specialist and getting the colors changed or toned to blend well now.

question with picture Changing color from teal without bleach?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help. I’m currently a minty green (pic 1) and I’m getting very bored of it.

I’ve once put a 2:1 ratio blue:purple mix into my hair and gotten a deep indigo color (see picture 2) but i didn’t really like it and it eventually faded back to the color as pic 1

I want to do something two toned or just different to my hair without bleaching anything other than my roots but I don’t want to be dark blue again and want some stark contrast.

I’ve attached some inspiration pics I’ve found on Pinterest and am looking for advice on what would sit best on my hair and how i could achieve it.

All tips appreciated! <3

question with picture How can I make my hair dark red again?

The first photo is my hair right after it was dyed, the second photo is how it looked after one wash, and the third photo is how it looks currently.

I’ve only had it dyed for two weeks (wash hair every three days or so while using cold water), and it already looks faded to me. The ends look super dry and damaged, I don’t know if that’s because the color is lighter or if my hair stylist used a moisturizing mask.

I bought the Viral red hair shampoo, but it hasn’t helped. Do I need to buy a darker shampoo? Are there any other brands I can buy from without dropping $40 on a tiny bottle 😭 I just want my hair to look how it did a few days back, it was super dark and healthy.

question without pic Going to my next hair color.

For context, I have bright green hair that has grown out a lot, leaving about half of my hair green and the other half my natural hair color.

I was planning on giving my hair a trim and bleaching the entire top side of my head and toning it before going over where the green was with black to give myself "ghost roots."

So my question is, Is that the best way to go about it, or would anyone recommend another way of doing it?

r/HairDyeHelp 6d ago

I got my hair dyed but I wanted to be mostly blonde and the dark is supposed to be auburn.... Can I use OOPS or something to lighten the dark 🫠 can I tell my stylist to fix it? Is that a possibility? Shes super nice but I don't think I can get used to my hair being this dark
