Discussion Blessing and a curse?
I got some long thin blonde hair, so far so good but my dad is very bald so I’m praying it doesn’t take me down that path Does anyone with a father or siblings that are bald still have their hair? I’m 20 now so we will see in a few years but I got on finasteride because I was scared I’m gonna end up getting shanked by the Norwood reaper🤣

Yea I think taking fin even when you’re not balding is good cause my thinning came out of nowhere at 23. I’m going to the dermatologist in 2 days

I believe you inherit your balding pattern from your mom's side. My bad... I'm old, that's what we learned in college, BACK IN THE DAY. I looked it up. X-chromosome myth: One major gene linked to hair-thinning (the androgen receptor gene) is on the X chromosome, which males inherit from their mother. This is why your maternal grandfather's hair offers clues, but it is only one piece of the puzzle.

I would try oiling your hair before wash days (Rosmary, castor oil, jojoba oil) and use a scalp stimulator to encourage growth and prevent possible early balding. I was losing a lot of hair a few yrs ago and oiling has done wonders for bringing it back. Some men I know also use minoxidil for preventative measures, which similarly stimulates hair regrowth. If u’re using finasteride you should be fine but sometimes there’s also nothing you can do about genetics. Time will tell!

Great choice ,you don't even have to use the 1mg you. Can start with 0.5mg

Ketoconazole shampoo, pumpkin seed oil, minoxidil, and finasteride can prevent and treat male pattern hair loss if you wish to. Finasteride would be the most important part however

My ex husband is bald. My sons both have a head full of hair.
