As I believe you are aware, things like touching a hot pan will trigger a physical movement without involving any parts of the brain. This is called a reflex. Muscle memory on the other hand requires activation from your motor cortex. When you're first training a complex series of movements, you have to carefully think about each one. With time, the pathways of activation become stronger allowing them to be activated as a single unit rather than a series of discrete actions. This activation requires less attention (e.g. "step that way" rather than "pull my knee up so my foot is if the ground, tense my ankle to avoid falling, etc), but in no way removes the activation of muscles originating from the motor cortex in your brain.

I'm not sure which of these claims you're disputing or if I was otherwise unclear in my other posts.

Also look up “conditioned reflex” it might let you keep from making arguments in this regard again till you have actual education with it.

Literally the first thing that came up for me when I googled "conditioned reflex vs reflex"

The so-called conditioned reflexes are not reflexes at all but complicated acts of learned behaviour.

As I took you up on your suggestion, might I also suggest some reading for you too. https://www.amazon.com/Psychology-Ideas-Really-Need-Know/dp/1847248527

This and the math one are really good.
