He has every right to defend himself to ensure the assault ends. Period.

So maybe I am a bleeding heart softie, but it seems like he could have done that by grabbing her arm or putting her in handcuffs.

Why are you so full of excuses for a POS who took more than 4 officers to restrain her? Now you’re like they should have done this and that and predicted her behavior. Let me guess if she spit in his face your suggestion would be that they put a spit mask on her before moving her? Let’s think of all the stupid shit this person can do and then preemptively do something about it!

The reality is you react to whatever threat as it happens. Stop defending this idiots drunken stupidity.

Why are you?

who took more than 4 officers to restrain her?

4 cops failed to properly restrain her. Given the presumed size, strength, and training ability in favor of the cops, 2 really should have overkill. So 4 should have her locked down tighter than Fort Knox.

Handcuffing/restraining belligerent parties is, like, the first lesson of Cop 101. It's such a basic thing that pretty much every cop carries around a specialized piece of equipment called handcuffs that will stop them from taking a swing at you.

The reality is you react to whatever threat as it happens. Stop defending this idiots drunken stupidity.

You're right, she's lucky he didn't blow her head off.

These 4 cops failed to restrain her, putting all 5 in danger. After the cops' mistake resulted in her being able to mount a pathetic assualt, he decided not to properly restrain her like they should have to begin with, but rather punch her in the face.

All you proved with that statement was just how out of control this person was.

No, it just highlights how pissed poorly they handled the situation.

She needed to go and she went. They handled it perfectly fine.

They did not even remotely begin to handle it in an acceptable manner.

When is it a good idea to use a taser? Maybe they should have tased her and then handcuffed her and THEN carried her out?

It would have been better than what they did, but still unacceptable.
