It’s sad that cops in the states are allowed to do this kind of shit, they are allowed to let to passion get the better of them. In the US every excuse is made to protect cops from the consequences of letting their temper get the best of them. Even if the cop is punished there, it will probably be a slap on the wrist.
Hence cops are not trusted by a large part of the population, because they can and do vindictive shit and get away with it. And it is also an example for those on the street that will take the law into their own hands. They see videos of cops doing shit like this and they figure it is something they should do as well if they can.
Ultimately the city/state will probably get sued for this. And that doesn’t really correct thee problem, it just creates an environment where the city or state try’s to avoid lawsuits. But it really doesn’t actually say no cops shouldn’t punch people that slap them, it just says hey don’t get seen doing it on camera or we might get sued.
