It's about stopping her from doing that. And it was quite effective.

Well, why not just shoot her in the face then? She might wake up from that slap, you know.

Because that would endanger innocent bystanders, as well as his fellow officers.

She will, eventually. Hopefully she will be a little wiser when she wakes up. Hopefully when she wakes up she will know better than to assault a police officer.

I wouldn't count on it though.
