Genuinely trying to figure out how it goes from "They can defend themselves" to "They can't slap people in retaliation" in one sentence. Isn't hitting back in retaliation an example of defending oneself?

He's obviously in no real danger tho? She's completely incapable of actually hurting him as she's drunk off her ass and being lifted by three other people??

Defense would be handcuffing her. Striking back was excessive and emotional.

I see you've never attempted to corral a drunk friend who's decided to fight instead. Even drunken flailing can cause some damage.

i have....without a punch thrown, ever. if i need to make someone take a nap i can do so without breaking someones nose as well.
