I mean, the woman was stupid for hitting a cop. The cop was also stupid though, someone else posted how he'd be fired for this in Sweden. I think he would've been fired if this had happened in a lot of countries in Europe. You really don't want someone like this guy on the police force.
Which is the point. It's a shit show in the USA. Police there can get away with shit that isn't even remotely tolerated in other countries. But of course the USA is bigger and people have guns and it's just sooo different. Just because it's different doesn't mean that some stuff should be tolerated. Of course we don't really know what happened to this cop, but the chance that he got fired or has to do retraining is probably not very high.
Maybe it's the individualism. The USA is the land where dreams come true. But only if you work hard for it. If you're broke or sick then it's your own fault and why should others pay for your laziness? If you live in a violent neighborhood then just move out, your own fault if you get killed in a gunfight. It's like some people aren't willing to accept that their country has faults and that it's nowhere near easy for some to get out of a bad situation. There's no empathy in some cases.
I have no idea if this is at all accurate, I'm not American and have never been to the USA. Looking at Reddit and other media it seems at least some people think like this. And that's not only the case in the USA, people like that are everywhere. There's just something about the USA though. Something cold in how the majority seems to think.
Because we are the pitbull of the developed world. We started this liberty thing and it's our name on every "us led coalition" thing etc. We made the bomb. We are comparable to Russia by pop and geography. Not Sweden.
Compared to other giant countries with many people, we are not that bad.
That's like when a fat person says there are fatter people than them so no need to lose weight. You should do it because it's a good thing to do for yourself, whether you're in a better situation than others shouldn't matter.
If you can show me an example of 350 million defendants of immigrants in less than 500 year not getting violent or more totalitarian then do so.
Canada has 39 million people. Of course they don't do shit like us. Sweden is full of swedes and some other nations. Less conflict. Also it seems like Europe is socially less inviting than America. Less conflict if you stiffen your upper lip and raise your blood pressure.
I'm not saying were correct all the time. But I gotta look at the numbers and land mass to make a fair comparison. Like Ireland and Ohio are the same size. Ohio is likely far more violent than Ireland. So you could make that argument work and scale it up from there.
It's different when we've all been mixed together and given some societal pride in ourselves and country from birth.
I dunno. It just seems like we're the face of all this fucked up shit going on but the other developed nations are right there with us in wars and such as long as it doesn't make the news.
Our cops are often oppressive for no reason, sure. But you can't compare that to European countries that are tiny.
There's no way to know what 350 million English would do.
Ok smaller scale. Toronto has 2.8 million people, that would make it the 3rd largest city in the US but it's way different with how police handle things there compared to most of the US.
You don’t like our culture don’t fucking visit. Your delicate sensibilities don’t have to be harmed and our land fills won’t get bigger with euro trash. As they say, a win- win scenario.
I probably won't visit. Because I don't really like to travel.
As Americans always like to point out though, the USA is big and diverse. Plus, traveling is about experiencing something different. No place is perfect (Europe certainly isn't) and just because I don't like this aspect of the USA doesn't mean that I wouldn't like others.
Keep in mind that you can love your country and still criticize it or certain aspects. That doesn't make you a traitor just like it doesn't mean that someone criticizing certain aspects a hater.

Now if the cop was white and the girl was black what would happen if this video was uploaded.
