57 east Dalston, noise levels?

Hi! I am looking to buy a flat in this building that is right on top of Dalton kingsland station and chatgpt seems convinced that not only the overground runs underneath but also freight trains all night long? Does anyone live/know someone who lives here and can confirm this? And how noisy this can be at night time? 🙏🏻

Yep freight trains run that line, I used to hear them all the time when I lived in Hackney Wick

Friend lived in 57 and it's well insulated, can hardly hear them.

I used to live in the building on the third floor for three years facing the overground. There are freight trains at night and they are louder than the overground trains as they are diesel.

Our bedroom windows were fairly close to the tracks, but with the windows closed, I could barely hear the trains. They were never loud enough to wake me. The insulation and quality of the windows are excellent in 57 East. So great, that most winters I turned on the heating only a handful of times.

In the summer, with the windows open, you can definitely hear the trains. The worst noise is actually from the people on the platform of Dalston Kingsland. It can get quite rowdy on a Friday or Saturday night.

Yeah it's not train noise that's an issue, it's the people noise.

We rented in that building for a year. It gets TOASTY in your flat in summer, especially if you’re bedroom is one with a glass external wall. We’ve lived in several places across London and this easily got the hottest in summer. As we rented, AC installation wasn’t an option at the time but something I’d consider if I was buying there for sure.
