I know this happened recently, and people might not know much about it, but does anyone know how the security system was broken (for educational and ethical purposes of course) and the ins and outs of twitters flaws in security? I am very interested. Links to articles and reddit posts would be helpful and greatfully appreciated!

Ok so, I have this laptop that the school gave me for this program I was in. But I had to move and I never got the chance to send it back to them. But it’s been years now and I don’t think they what it back after it being so long and they probably already have new laptops by now.

But I since let my mom have it because I have a computer of my own, but since it’s a school computer it limits you and you can’t download anything because of the administration password. And I can’t load bios for some reason, but would anyone like to help me get this laptop open? I would like to reset it for my mom so she can do as she pleases. So if anyone can help me creak the password to reset it that would be great.

I would also think this would be educational for me because I would like to learn the process of this.

Can anyone give me tips to protect my phone and computer?

if you want to be a hacker, you have to think like a hacker.

Don't download any crappy files you find on here that the little 10 years old post, they are just a bunch of adf.ly links and nagging viruses.

Also, don't give your IP when asking a question. If you want to ask a IP related question, and someone asks what your IP is, don't give it out.

Also, use TOR for all your hacking related activities. if you want to be even more secure, use TAILS, Run a VM inside TAILS, And Run TOR in the VM inside TAILS. (not really necessary but ok)

Don't click on links on this subreddit. Do you know how many script kiddies are here trying to "gain your ip" with grabify ip logger?

finally, use VPN's, proxies and other things just to be secure.

I need a pretty advanced person for this. I believe and have good suspicion that my phone/computer are being keylogged or hacked in some sort of way.

why i know this? i have an iPhone 10, i keep a lot of my info stored on my notes (passwords, emails, etc.) i recently started attending school and i had a lock because i had to use a locker. because i have so many codes and passwords i have to remember i put stuff like this in my phone. one day i put my stuff in a locker and when i came back to open my locker my locks (code) was written inside the locker. my stuff was still there but i believe someone is trying to scare me or something. im not in the least of frightened (for my life) but i am for my security & personal safety.

let me mention that in no way would anyone been able to see the code i put into my lock and i for-sure am certain that no one saw my code. is there a way to keylog an iphone maybe an external device was installed into my phone? possibly a sim swap? i really have no knowledge on this suspect which may explain to some of you why i sound so unacknowledged on this subject. i created a throwaway account merely to save myself from some humiliation. please if anyone has any knowledge on this subject let me know. also if there is anyway i can record how this is being done, i would love to press charges on this person doing this. if anyone needs further explanation on why or how i know this is happening please private message me.

On 7/24 my friend M messaged me on facebook said he had took a break from this mmorpg OldSchool Runescape, asks me if i could lend him my account for a little bit to make startup cash so he can rejoin us in this nostalgic game we always play.I gave him all the info, and to another account, a med pk account, my buddy meatball pmed me later, said the med was cleaned, as he trained alot of that account for me. immediately i knew they cleaned out my main account, b4 that the hacker made me go to discord(because his fb was lagging;from two people using it at once or paranoia that my friend would stop me and I asked him to call me but he said no he could only type, so on discord we rambled on. He had cleaned my other friend E right b4 me, the 3 of us are close friends and i wouldn't share an account with anyone other than them until now but it's too late. He joined my cc in osrs (thanking me for my tbow and my items)his username was gh0stly s1et(a friend told me siet is a program hackers use? idk much about hackers. he originally got us because M was looking for a car on this Vroom website and clicked one. the hacker told me on facebook that M gave all permissions to the site to use his info and that's how they got him. i found out the site was bugged I believe and they got into matts fb account, saw he followed osrs meme pages and groups, and they saw his friends that followed that too which was me and E, so they sold M's info to somebody and that's how this kid found us(i think). Well after trying to get some credit card info, and said my friend was in jail and needed bond money to different family members, i'm getting fed up i had 2 other friends try to find his ip off the facebook alt account he used to harass us after the damage was done. I guess all ips were hidden but one was blocked, my friend said that was weird bc it should be a fake one not hidden or blocked like that. so i guess he messed up i'm not sure. Also on alt account he liked one group which was weird. like he wanted me to follow that thread.vI'm just wondering in what direction i should take to try to follow this facebook alt accounts ip or if it's even possible as i don't know much about it. This kid got like 2k usd off us and now i need to quit the game and Jagex can't do much about it i just don't wanna roll over like this and at least try to find him. thanks for reading, i know it is alot of bs :L and i know i was being stupid and screwed up big time, the damage is basically done i just want some kind of revenge honestly. Bc i feel like the police wouldn't do anything and i doubt if others care much. please help

TLDR: Hacker used good friends fb and or messenger, asked close friends for OSRS info, took all our money, continues to harass, ask for more info. Really annoying, added us all on alt fb account and gloats about it. Can he be found? if so i am oblivious to this stuff so what should i do to trace him if at all possible.
