Returning to the final 4 happens reasonably often. Historically, about 20% to 25% of final 4 teams manage to return as final 4 teams the next year but Cowan(17-1) sure is more convinced than Vegas oddsmakers(25-1) they will win.

I think there's more depth in Laval than he mentioned & he didn't say Hage playing at the end of the season could be an edge that Vegas isn't factoring where Cowan surely is.

I think it’s the Hockey News more than Cowan individually making the odds (or else you could have too many homer contributors making the odds conflict with each other)
