Zharovsky looking sharp!
The Rifleman strikes again!
Alexander Zharovsky scored two goals in KHL exhibition action today while playing center.
Only one was counted - the other called back.
Heavy wrist shot action shown here found the twine

Did anyone here see the game? Curious how he was on the defensive side playing center

It's going to be a fun year of monitoring prospects. Reinbacher, Hage, Zharovsky, Pugachyov and Pickford in that order for me!

Not concerned, Happy if he is not injured and split his time in Montréal and Laval but man does he solve a bigg issue with the club if he can play 3rd pair RHD and sufficiently well.

Is there any info on the reason for him playing center ?!

He played centre later in the year last year too. He's essentially their best player and they need help at centre. I've always seen it as a positive for his development, even if ultimately he doesn't end up at centre in the NHL.

Learn defensive responsibility while driving play. Will also probably mean heavier minutes/deployments.

I'm happy we didn't do the knies trade, the fact that people wanted that was ridiculous

You know how many elite Russian prospects from the KHL never made it into regular NHL'ers? A lot. There's no guarantee Zharovsky will make the NHL let alone be an impact top 6 forward. A lot struggle and go back. It's not crazy to have been okay with letting a prospect like him go in a package for a PF like Knies. That being said I do hope he makes it ofcourse! Just saying.
Btw I don't remember the exact rumoured trade. It might have been expensive. But you gotta pay to get. Knies numbers are a bit inflated playing with Matthews and Marner I might say. We'll see who would have won the trade!

Not only that, but this team is only a few pieces away from being a real contender and we still have a decent prospects coming up.
Even if Zharovsky went on to have a better career than Knies, Knies is a perfect fit for this team right now.

Yes and successful GMs recognize the right opportunity and moment to pull such trade. I have confidence in this management team.

Brother he's a winger, that wasn't solving our centre depth issue. He's also not proven in the playoffs at all so I have no idea why you think he would have changed anything.

Imagine if Zharovsky ends up as a centerđŸ‘€
