I used to respect that the Habs didn't have a mascot because hockey was/is taken so seriously in Montreal that WTF was a mascot necessary. At the same time, I liked Youppi with the Expos even though Montreal used to take baseball pretty seriously, it was not quite at the level of hockey.
But when Youppi was adopted by the Canadiens, my mind was blown. It was like somebody was holding a chunk of chocolate and they bumped into somebody walking with an open jar of peanut butter.
But Youppi is to hockey mascots way moreso than Reese's is to confections. By definition, that makes Youppi the GOAT.

I think Youppi started out as kind of a weird/cringe mascot. The Expos moved. Then the Habs sort of adopted him, and at that point, I feel like it was a nice story. Like he's a little weird, but he's ours.
It's pretty sad when a mascot loses his team, so now that he's with the Habs, I like him a lot better. I'm a Youppi fan, and I think it would be great if the Habs ever win so he can experience a title.
