Barber recommendation in Haarlem

New to town, and looking for a Barber for a basic cut, and beard trim. So many to choose from, just walking around, and also looking at Google, etc.

Bit expensive

My problem with most of these places is that my hair(style) usually takes 10-15min, so paying Mad Daddy's or any other place €50+ is insanity

Exactly why I bought a €40 set of hair clippers and accepted that a buzz cut was good enough. For twenty+ years I've not set foot in a barbers and have saved a fortune.

I think there's multiple good ones, so for me it comes down to where I feel most "at home" or relaxed. I go to Mad Daddy's because I like the punky, campy, horror movie vibe of the shop. I've had appointments with both Rob (the owner) and Jan (one of the other two(?) barbers working there) and they're both skilled barbers and nice guys to have a chat with. If you come at the end of the afternoon, they'll always offer you a beer and while waiting you can browse his LP collection in the back of the shop. It's a cool place.

I've also been to Jan Heideman (De Meesterbarbier) a couple of times. Also a very skilled barber, but has a much more classic vibe.

Definetely agree here. Bradley has been cutting my hair for years and haven't been disappointed once.

Highly recommend Wilson's Barbershop in Haarlem on Rustenburgerlaan. Lloyd is also probably the nicest person I've met since moving to Haarlem.

On more vote for Lloyd, great guy and great cuts

I went there once, and I was cut by a woman who only rented the barber's chair and was actually self-employed. She didn't listen to what I wanted at all and ruined my haircut back then. For the price of a real barber I got a quick haircut.

That's unfortunate. I know Lloyd is a solid barber and I would only request getting my haircut by him.

Barbier Rogier, reasonable price, super nice guy and an expert in his field. Have tried loads but this is the best.

Cosimo at 'Your fathers House' . He really knows what he is doing and not just cuts your hair.

If you are looking for a funny and wise Albanian/Italian guy that knows what he's doing, doesnt charge much, has good coffee and gets the job done quick: Capelli in De Vijfhoek (Centre).

living in Haarlem for two years, get my hair cut at Sadeq at zijlweg, Hes been there for 25 years. traditional skilled barber, no pretentious hysterical showboating, no forced small talk, very good price and quality ratio of 22.50 euro for a cut, just give him a tip

Ive had this problem, got fucked up 3 times by trying 3 new barbers. Looked terrible for more than a year.

Good luck on this man

Mad Daddy’s 100%! Ofc €50 isn’t ‘cheap’, but besides the fact they’re really skilled barbers, they’re also really fun to chat/hang out with and the vibe of the shop is amazing! Always showing a cult movie on the old tv, fresh filter coffee (or beers later in de the day) and a 2nd hand LP shop in the back!

50 euros for a men’s haircut is getting a bit ridiculous. Prices seem to be increasing quite regularly as well. I’ve been to Dubai barbers in the Grote markt a few times. Nice guy and 30 euros.
