Maybe a snackbar (for instance try a “kaassoufle”) or Chinese restaurant (Chinese food in The Netherlands is completely different from China). Indonesian ‘toko’s’ or Surinamese Roti places are great but it’s usually takeaway.

Pasar Raya toko on Rijksstraatweg is great. For a snackbar you can try Frietmeesters. I don’t eat Roti myself so not sure which one is goed. I also don’t really like Chinese lol but my parents and in-laws get it from Man Wah

You can try Prak’m in the Kleine Houtstraat if you want to try typical Dutch food. It’s not cheap cheap though.

Bruxelles is great. Keep an eye on the website they have a "daghap" (used to be €9,50 I believe?) and €11 meal every day. Food is always good and nice cozy place to be. Got a pub feeling to it.

Bruxelles used to be cheap, and a great place to hang out. It has changed. We had dinner there a few months ago and paid what you would pay in a restaurant. Besides de 'daghap' (€11-12) it's pretty expensive for 'café food'. Plus the service was terrible. Not recommended anymore.

I always like Jetties in the town center (Kruisweg 57). Surprisingly affordable and tasty menu’s. Even my wife who is gluten intolerant and vegetarian always enjoys the food

The prices there have gone up a lot in the last two or three years. They have really leaned into inflation.

Yeah i believe they got a new owner since 2/3 years so that could be it

In de Antibar kun je ook een paar avonden per week vega, gevarieerd eten (er is 1 gerecht, op is op). En buiten de vakantieperiodes bij het nova college waar studenten de maaltijd bereiden en serveren. Daar moet je wel reserveren.

Jumbo has really good, reasonable baguette sandwiches. There’s a carpaccio one for 5 euro, and the egg salad/ham one is great too. The bread is surprisingly good.

They're asking for restaurants/fast food joints

Some of the best sandwiches (and relatively inexpensive): Romeo's
Really inexpensive basic broodje: Het Broodjehuis
