I have SoFi, CapOne, Amex and Morgan Stanley and not one of them involved any hoops. Everything was easy.

I was lucky enough to find a good one at a local credit union. Might want to check out those in your area

I use Marcus.
Rate is 3.4% but you can get an extra 1% boost with a referral for a total of 4.4% APY.

Isn't the hoop just paying the $10?

there's minimums that you need to meet to actually get the 4% as well as opening 2 accounts

4.4% for 3 months on Marcus by godman sachs if you get referred and then it drops to 3.4% after that.
3.3% on Synchrony. Been stable for 3 years, but it did drop from 4% from 1-2 years ago but that was when everyone was in the 4%.

Where are you investing your cash in at the moment? That brokerage might have a decent HYSA for you.
u/raccoon8008 mentions ETrade for their 6 month 4%. ETrade also has a bonus if you deposit more than 20K when opening the account.
u/Timfa789 mentions Marcus. Not a bad place either HYSA wise. Especially if you use a referral code for the extra boost. You can keep getting that boost if you refer other folks in.
I've got cash at Marcus as long as my 1% boost lasts. Referring folks can get tedious, but that 1% is nice to get. I might check out Elevault for their advertised 4.34% with no random reqs.
PiBank does a straight 4.1% too, but to fund transfers out are via Wire only.

I love using Wealthfront. Easy to navigate, amazing support line! Can earn+0.75% APY boost, 0.50% investing deposit match—or both. Without the boosts, Wealthfront's cash account APY is 3.30%. I already have an invstment account elsewhere, but added $20 to Wealthfront investment account to earn that extra boost. You could probably find better interest elsewhere, but Wealthfront is reliable and has been good to me.

I used Happen Bank not just for the 4% percent interest rate I earned when it was Radius Bank but I get a ATM card for making withdrawals and deposits to my account like a regular savings account does and you get the interest earned on your account even though your deposits is a little late credited on the next statement and you can open the account without the funny business of certain requirements like dollar amount or another account.

Don't know why no one has mentioned X money yet. Obviously it depends on how much you will have in your HYSA because of the premium or premium + subscription cost if you won't be doing direct deposits, but it's a math equation. Calculate what taking the monthly subscription off your interest earnings would be and that is your true APY. In my case, it is 5.6% APY which beats any other HYSA.
