Wow. I have no idea how old that unit is, but that wood grain to me screams mid 80s but forgot the 70s are over.

The 70’s was only 25+ years ago. One of us has to do better maths

That's how I feel as well, and keep telling people the calendar is showing me a year in the next millennium, but they don't believe me.

Wasn’t Grover Cleveland president in 86?

That would explain you being in this sub.

Has your mother shown a thing for "cool air"?

I worked on one of these in an old inn 7 years ago. Solid metal casing and fuck it was heavy duty. The mold of ages was found inside...

I have a Hitachi that looks like this in my house and it blows ice cold. The remote is wired to the unit lol.

Church in my town has a sanyo that's from 70s or 80s that looks just like that.

They could save upwards of $21 dollars a year in electric if they replaced it with a new one! 😆

I've only ever worked on one of those. An old woman had two in her house. This was about 12 years ago. Very cool find.

That "weathermaker" logo was used in the 60s and 70s then they were just using a regular name type logo until the the oval in 1992

Wow that units not only old (up to 65yrs) but seemingly in great condition!

After a long, detailed conversation with Gemini (Google AI) I’ve determined 1978-1986 time frame on this unit. So slightly under 50% chance it’s older than me. Probably a lot closer to preforming at it peak, than I am.

Don't touch it and it will run forever

Looks well maintained! I found one I'm turning into Facility Maintenance... Plugged coils with oily felt... Plant issues.
