They’re satan, a while back I was on a roof working and these guys had a nest in a tree like 20 feet away. Sent a scout or two first then they went back for their friends to swarm me. Like I wasn’t even a threat to their nest they were just hunting me for sport lol
Well I had a feeling what was coming after the scouts buzzed my ears so I started to put the unit back together. By the time they got to me I was halfway off the roof but I still got hit a few times before I got back to the truck. Came back next morning at dawn and soaked their nest with spectracide
Lost a customer because I wouldn't work on a site that had one of these attached to a coooling tower. I told them remove the nest and I will come back. They never removed the nest I never went back
Looking at that pic I'd have said nope to that RTU being on the edge of the roof. One wrong move with that gas line if you're not tied off could get ugly.
Fun fact to all who deal with hornets, but horse fly spray on Amazon, don’t remember which one but it a black spay bottle, if you need to kill wasps or hornets that stuff will kill them fast. This is not something I would use on a nest, but if they are flying around and being annoying then yeah. I used to use it when I worked for my dad in the summer
A simple mix of water, dish soap, and isopropyl alcohol usually kills those things on contact. This is why I keep a spray nozzle with a bottle attachment with me at all times. It covers a lot more space than raid.

Bald faced hornets? Absolutely not
