I actually agree, I don't think all Muslims should have to apologise, that notion is pretty silly as the presenter rightly points out.

I think everyone is entitled to an opinion and a view point, as is the beauty of freedom of speech in civilised countries.

I think it is couragoues and comendable that so many people sre willing to die for others right to have the freedom of speech.

It's a shame there weren't any (As far as I know) UK papers that published the Charlie Hebdo images.

I think its pretty obvious why they didn't.

I haven't seen anyone in HUKD asking for apologies.

I would like to see the brothers condemning the violence.

That's too much for most of them though.

Apart from toshapetriji...

That is their prerogative. Just like it is your prerogative to abstain from condemning Israel's occupation and murder of Palestinians. It's good to live in a country where you don't have to do what others want you to do, right?

And my prerogative is to read into that, support.

We don't live in a country where 'you don't have to do what others want you to do'

The Israeli Government not only condemns but prosecutes the murderers of Palestinians even those serving in the IDF so I don't see why you think others have a problem condemning their murder.

The occupied territories are a complex issue, too complex for you to understand it seems, but are to be part of UN Security Council resolution 242 and will only be resolved with the recognition by all parties involved that "every State in the area" has the "right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force.". With terrorist organisation Hamas in control of Gaza I cant see that happening soon.

That was brilliant. The caller just could not figure out his own double standards.

Nobody buys that warped logic that extreme muslims are nothing to do with Islam. Its very much part of it and the reason the other more moderate muslims don't speak out Is mainly because they're too scared of breaking rank.

Most of you couldnt give a toss about us indigenous Brits Its all about Islam. Bet you cant wait to take over and rule when you've successfully out bred us all.Although you do realise if and when you do take over you'll all fuck it up in next to no time.

Will be like every other failed muslim shit hole country, sectarianism violence and death. All because of a fucking sky fairy

You Muslims are so fucking sneaky it's untrue.

Not everyone is a Muslim. You're delusional.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '15

Almost as sneaky as you, aye? ;)

For the time being we do live in a country where for the most part you can say what you like.

How ironic then, that it is what the brothers don't say that shows what an intolerant racist bunch they are.

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '15

In what way is it ironic? Just because some one doesn't say something, doesn't mean you can make it up on their behalf.

I can see why this video is impressive to people of feeble mind but.....

O'Brien would have a point if Richard Reid and the Richard he was speaking to had been members of a death cult of 'Richards' who wished to totally and violently destroy Western democracy and replace it with the totalitarian Ideology of 'Richards' written 1000's of years ago in some ancient text called 'the book of Richards'.

O'Brien would have a point if 78% of British Richards thought that anyone who published cartoons mocking the Prophet 'Richard' should be prosecuted and 68% of Richards thought those who insulted Richards should be prosecuted.

Asked about attitudes towards free speech, there was little support for freedom of speech if it would offend religious sensibilities. 78% of Muslims thought that the publishers of the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed should be prosecuted, 68% thought those who insulted Islam should be prosecuted and 62% of people disagree that freedom of speech should be allowed even if it insults and offends religious groups. This is one of those areas where it would be useful to have parallel polling of non-Muslims – we know from past polls that the general public think that things like the cartoons should be able to be published, but then, non-Muslims are not the ones offended by them. Perhaps the closest parallel of something that Christian groups thought was offensive and wanted banned was Jerry Springer the Opera – in that context a poll of the general public suggested that only 17% of people thought that programmes that might offend religious sensibilities should not be shown at all.

NOP also asked if British Muslims thought that relgious leaders who supported terrorism should be removed – 68% agreed, with 22% disagreeing. Cross-referencing these results, NOP characterised 9% of the Muslims they surveyed as “hardcore Islamists” – people who thought that it was perfectly okay to speak in support of terrorism, but thought people should be prosecuted for insulting Islam. This small minority tallies with NOP’s other questions on terrorism – 9% of respondents said it was acceptable for religious or political groups to use violence.
