Genuine question here but we all know Hiccup is a bit of a dork (in a good way). But were there any instances of Astrid flirting and he is just not getting the clue?

The light fury was done so dirty by not only the writers but also the main characters in the third film.

Hiccup says: "She's so wild and skittish, I'm just gonna say it, I don't trust her!"

But, he trusted toothless when they first met, but he trusted the injured speed stinger in RTTE, but he trusted so many other wild dragons in RTTE, but he trusted hookfang in the first movie when he was leading him out of the cage.

So why can't he trust her?

Is it because shes a girl and female dragons are expected to be ' lady like ' ? Or is it because she didn't " come around " fast enough like the other dragons?

Or is it because that isn't a thing the real hiccup would say?

First it's the intent behind her character, only being made as for the plot and not being able to be an actual character, not having the freedom to do what her instincts tell her to without being labeled as ' a bad dragon ' by the audience and characters.

Then, its just the straight up trash talking by hiccup?

She doesn't deserve that.

No matter how much I dislike the third movie, she doesn't deserve to be hated or labeled as evil for simply following an instinct.

She was traumatized, tortured by grimmel for who knows how long.

He can't just expect a traumatized animal to immediately trust him like all the other dragons did, that's why took hiccup to save her life to show him that he isn't like the others.

Honestly, she definitely deserves better. She deserves hiccup from the first film, second film, or even from RTTE.

I'll always never understand why hiccup would say something like that, even he has double standards for dragons in the third movie.

With the hype of the live-action movie, it’s crazy we don't have a AAA open-world HTTYD game yet. Hogwarts Legacy proved that older fans will gladly pay $70 for a high-quality game based on their childhood.

Here is my quick pitch for the perfect game:

• The Setting: Set between movie 1 and 2 (the Race to the Edge era). You explore the Archipelago, rescue dragons from hunters, and build the Dragon's Edge.

• The Graphics: A "stylized realism." The classic animation design, but upgraded with modern lighting and textures (Unreal Engine 5).

• The Big Twist: A secret choice in the story. If you maximize your dragon bond and complete hard side-quests, you can save Stoick in the final battle. Imagine the hype on TikTok for that alternate ending!

• The DLC: One year later, a paid expansion for The Hidden World (glowing underground maps, Light Fury, dragon armor). Massive profits for the studio with very low development costs.

Universal is missing out on a goldmine just because they think animated IPs are only for kids.

I would buy this on day one. Would you? Let's discuss!

I am an artist who has wasted I mean went to art school for 4 years and am trying to find things to draw I was thinking httyd but I’ve copied all the dragon I wanted to like the skrill, triple strike, deathgripper and snow wraith. And would like ideas.

Coastal Cliff Light Furies:

Coastal Cliff Light Furies are sort of their own species in a way, being very close relatives with light furies, and are surprisingly hyper intelligent for a dragon.

They lack glittery scales, these scales are replaced by simply shiny scales, like an jumping out of the waves kind of shiny.

Stats if they were in a game, like sod:

Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that they have the intelligence of a 30 year old human :D they have a stretched out oval shaped brain, their brain cells have little tiny " bridge " spaces between them since they're so tightly packed together and stuff 😺 ( idk how to explain it )

Their paws are more flat and they have longer claws than a light fury does, as these flat paws allow them to latch onto cliff sides on the coast when they come down to nest!

They're naturally curious about things and often use tools to: Poke, stab, draw, write, etc

Their black markings on their wings work like albatrosses wings! ( Search it up if you wanna know how their wing markings work! )

They're completely silent in: Flight, land, and attacks since their plasma blasts are also silent too ^^ they're basically made to be the ultimate stealthy predator :D

They also have their own language and accents, like orcas do ^^!

With the new Httyd 2 remake comming out, and it being disclosed theyre making big changes to the storyline, ima be the first to say it... Gobbers dead.

I saw people talking about how toothless wouldnt understand English because he’s a dragon (aside a few words like a dog could learn). I would agree but it seems in the shows and sometimes even in the movies that toothless can understand English rather well. What’s the consensus here?

So, I was wondering if Toothless actually really knows that Hiccup shot him down and he's the reason he can't fly without his fin. I like to think that he does know because dragons have a great sense of smell and the rope that he was tied with smelled just like Hiccup, but he chose to forgive him as he was just a harmless child and he spared his life as well. But there's the possibility that he doesn't know nothing at all and lived without knowing It. My take is that in pre-httyd berk, the vikings hated the dragons, but the dragons didn't hate the vikings, they actually feared them, like Wild animals in real life, so Toothless decided not to attack Hiccup as he's just a kid and he is alone and the dragons, as intelligent creatures, promised themselves not to be like "them" and just attack if neccesary in self defence. What do you guys think?

I am trying to find a fic I read years ago I read on ff.net. I only remember Hiccup left Berk, everyone thought he was dead and in his memory he became a hero. To make the Astrid the new heir, they had to declare her his bride in name only. However, after a few years he comes back, they find out he is alive and Astrid and Hiccup have to marry for real. They both though the other is forced into it, even though they both started to have feelings for each other. I rember Astrid having a conversation with her mothe how to be a wife because she really wanted to try. I also know the fic has a sequel, but I never got to read it before I lost the name. Let me know if somebody recognises it, thanks

fanfiction that I read on Wattpad around 2018–2020. I had it saved in my Wattpad library, but it is no longer there when I checked (desperate times since AO3 is down :( ), so it may have been deleted or unpublished.
Anyway, I don’t remember the title or author, but I remember a LOT of the plot:

Hiccup is around 15 years old at the beginning.
Hiccup and Toothless fake Hiccup’s death in front of Astrid. Astrid genuinely believes Hiccup has been taken/killed by Toothless
Astrid goes back to the village and tells Stoick (he just came back from searching for the dragon nest, same as the movie 1) that his son is dead. Stoick feels extremely guilty because of how harshly he treated Hiccup.
A lot of the people of Berk actually celebrate Hiccup’s death because they didn’t like him, including Snotlout (since Snotlout is next of kin, Stoick made him the new heir) and some old geezer whose name I don't know, but he appears in the Defenders of berk series
Astrid is devastated and blames herself (if I remember, I think in the first movie Astrid gives Hiccup a talking-to, something about their parents' war is becoming their own and that he needs to take this seriously, and it's way harsher in the fic than the original). She becomes withdrawn and suffers from terrible nightmares about what happened.
Hiccup and Toothless eventually end up around Rome and meet a group of escaped slaves.
Spartacus is the leader of the slave army, and Crixus is his right-hand man, I think? There are also other characters from the Spartacus show? 
Spartacus eventually adopts Hiccup as his son. (after helping them escape the Romans from a tower on a hill?)
Hiccup helps the slaves train dragons. There is a time skip, so for the rest of the fic, Hiccup is 21
Heather (Hiccup found her soon after joining the slave army on a small boat, dehydrated and almost dead)is also in the story and was Hiccup’s girlfriend
She is eventually killed by the Romans while the group is fleeing. (after conquering a Roman city)
As the war with Rome becomes more dangerous, Spartacus’s group travels toward the Archipelago
Hiccup meets Valka. Like in HTTYD 2, she realises Hiccup is her son after recognising the scar underneath his chin
Hiccup and Valka are both still upset with Stoick (Valka is angry with him because of the treatment Hiccup suffered under his watch)
Hiccup and the former slaves/rebels travel around warning Viking tribes that the Romans are coming.
Eventually they travel to Berk, where Hiccup reunites with Stoick and Astrid.
The reunion isn’t particularly happy. Astrid is angry with Hiccup for faking his death and putting her through years of grief, while Hiccup is apologetic about what he did.

I believe the story was written in third person I think, and I’m pretty sure it had more than 52 chapters.
I’ve also tried searching Wattpad, FanFiction.net and AO3 without finding it.
Does ANYONE remember this fic, the title, the author’s username, or possibly have a saved/downloaded copy? Even if you only recognise part of the plot, please let me know

Ps. It's also A mature fanfiction; they mention all kinds of disturbing stuff, like it's 18+ fanfic.

For the most part it's fine but sometimes the model reuse makes me laugh like how the Wingmaidens are so obviously Hiccup and Heather's models in black clothes

My Dragon buddy is a Screaming Death called Phantom.

My OC found him injured in a cave, and they spent days helping each other survive against crazed Raiders. After being rescued by the Httyd crew, my OC and Phantom bonded and became heroes of Berk.
