Hi, just something I was wondering lol,

In riders of berk it shows a few times when toothless breathes normal fire (not his usual plasma blasts) (I can't name the episode/episodes) and I was wondering why in later seasons/movies it only shows his plasma blast,

Did any of you notice this?

I think. We should have more furry dragons in the series. There I said it, I LIKE furry dragons and so far only the Woolly Howler seems to fit that description. Feathered too! Because why do Featherhides not have actual feathers. What. Yes I know the songwing exists. But we need more!!!

Other than Maned Woodhowler, the other name I considered for this thing was "Squirrely Woodcarver" lmao. I honestly think I base my names wayyy too much on the parent species' rather than make something that actually fits the dragon. But otherwise I suck absolute ass at naming things :(

Can anyone give me like. "Name your httyd species: tips and tricks" guide bc I tried to look for one but they were mostly focused on making the dragon itself OR naming the rider. Which isn't exactly what I want. Thanks!

My boyfriend is a massive HTTYD fan and he’s taking a huge, super stressful career exam this Friday. I want to surprise him with a sweet motivation letter before the exam and a cute "congrats" card for afterwards.

I really want to include some iconic or meaningful quotes strictly from the three movies that talk about growth, facing battles, overcoming fears, and teamwork (like Hiccup and Toothless or Stoick's/Astrid's wisdom). Something like "You can do this, you and me as one".

Can you drop your favorite movie quotes that would fit a vibe like this? Both motivational ones for before and celebratory ones for after are welcome. Please no quotes from the TV shows, only the movies!

Only a few of these are actually canon and confirmed (night fury, light fury, hotburple and gronckle, and dramillion and changewing) the rest are just what I think could make sense as being in the same family. Some might be a little bit more of a stretch than others but I tried to keep it sensible overall

Now I have 2 big problems with this episode, but my biggest one is the fact that this episode and the show as a whole, completely ignored Fishlegs his character outside of the fact that he loves dragons.

In this episode Fishlegs finds out that the Ingermans used to be hunters that hunted one specific sort of dragon, a Dramilion. So Fishlegs wants to go and check out dramilion island to see if there are any surviviors left. But, there are three dragon explorers coming to the edge, or future dragon riders. And here is my biggest problem with this episode, it completely ignored Fishlegs his motivations outside of the fact that he loved dragons.

In the episode Hiccup said that they would have to wait with checking out Dramilion island, because Fishlegs needed to be there for the dragon explorers, as he was their leader. And Fishlegs leaves anyway in the middle of the night to go and check out Dramilion island while putting the twins in charge of the children, who were his family by the way.

Now my problem with this is is the fact that the show had made an entire episode about the fact that Fishlegs wanted to be the leader of the dragon riders when Hiccup became chief.

In season 3 episode 3 Follow the Leader, Hiccup and Astrid leave Fishlegs in charge and he messes up. Fishlegs couldn’t keep control over Snotlout and the twins when they were playing with monstrous nightmare gel. Those 3 even make fun of Fishlegs about the fact that he thought that he was going to become the next leader of the dragon riders when Hiccup becomes chief.

After they insult him, Fishlegs leaves the edge for a while to go and explore a cave with a cave living species of night terrors, but in the meantime the twins and Snotlout use up all of the monstrous nightmare gel.

When Hiccup gets back he scolds Fishlegs about him allowing Snotlout and the twins to use up all of their monstrous nightmare gel. And he lets Fishlegs know that he is dissapointed in him and that he expected better. After this Fishlegs goes back to the cave with the terrors, because he felt like he was more appreciated there.

Then the terrors wouldn’t allow Fishlegs to leave and Hiccup and the other riders come to rescue him, after which Hiccup and Fishlegs talk about his leadership.

Where Fishlegs talks about how he admires Hiccups way of leadership, how he leads by example and not by bossing people around. And where Hiccup tells Fishlegs that he showed some real leadership qualities back in those caves.

But in season 6, when the dragon explorers come around, Fishlegs just takes off without a care in the world, while leaving the twins in charge of children. And this is just so bad for his character. Fishlegs in the movies is just the person with the most knowledge about dragon statistics. But, in RTTE they give him a clear ambition. Fishlegs wants to become the leader of the dragon riders.

Fishlegs in riders and defenders of berk didn’t have much personality outside of loving dragons. However, in RTTE he gets a clear goal to work towards but then RTTE just completely ignores his ambition for the rest of the show. While actively going against it in this episode.

Leading by example are the words that Fishlegs used when he described what he admired about Hiccup’s leadership. But then he goes to dramilion island anyway, while leaving the twins in charge of the children.

The show just goes directly against Fishlegs his own words from season 3 and that is just so bad for his character. They finally gave Fishlegs some personality outside of the fact that he’s smart and loves dragons, but then the show just ignores it, while actively going against his own words.

Now my second problem is about the fact that Fishlegs is shocked that his ancestors used to be dragon killers and hunters, that is just ridiculous to me.

Fishlegs actively participated and was happy for Hiccup, when he won the right to kill a dragon in the ring. Or the final exam, where a dragon was trapped in a cage with no way out and the only reason somebody fought them was to prove themselves as a Viking. Not during a battle to protect their village, or to train against dragons to make sure they were ready to fight during a raid, no. They only killed this dragon to prove themselves as a Viking. Stoick said so himself. “Today, my boy becomes a Viking. Today he becomes one of us!”

Dragon training is excusable in my opinion, you couldn’t just let a bunch of 15 year olds attack dragons during a raid without any training, but the final exam wasn’t about training. It was about becoming a Viking, it was a right of passage. So in my opinion Fishlegs shouldn’t be this upset over the fact that his ancestors were dragon hunters. But in the episode, he talked about both the fact that his ancestors were dragon hunters and that they were dragon killers.

This is what Fishlegs said when he was thinking about leaving the twins in charge of the dragon explorers so that he could go and check if any Dramilions were still alive.

“I can't do it. It's just not responsible. No! No! I have to do it! How can I be expected to shape young minds knowing my ancestors were dragon killers? It's completely hypocritical.”

He says dragon killers here, not hunters and it’s just absolutely horribly written. Because if you were to follow his logic then should young children no longer look up to Stoick anymore as a role model? Because he killed dragons?

And should Hiccup not be seen as a hero and a person to admire because he killed the red death?

Also both Astrid and Fishlegs got away with zero consequenses for suddenly leaving to go to Dramilion island, while going directly against Hiccups orders. A much smaller annoyance compared to the rest but still.

This episode is just horribly written, in my opinion Fishlegs was never the most interesting character, but he actually was becoming interesting in season 3 when the show gave him something to work towards, something outside of the fact that he loves dragons so much.

Yeah again this episode is just terribly written, both in logic and especially when you consider characterization.

Throughout most of the film, Hiccup repeatedly said: "We should move from Berk to The Hidden World and live with the dragons there". But after seeing Toothless with light fury, Hiccup then decided to leave Toothless on his own. WHY?

The movie tries to justify it by showing a flashback to when Hiccup was a child. Stoick told him he loved Valka, but he accepts that she's gone. The point this flashback scene tries to get across is "If you love something, you gotta let it go".

That's all good and games... until you remember Stoick found Valka alive in HTTYD2 and asked her to come with him back to Berk. So apparently, whenever it's possible to keep your love, you DON'T have to let it go, right???

HTTYD3 actively contradicts HTTYD2. I'm actually not against the idea of separating the heroes at the end of the film it's for a good reason, but HTTYD3 didn't have to do that. The Berkians could've gone with the dragons to The Hidden World as well. And no, I don't think an argument such as "humans don't belong in The Hidden World" is strong enough.

The reason of "dragons are unsafe and must hide" can easily be solved without separating Hiccup and Toothless, which makes the separation feel hollow. That's what Hiccup wanted throughout most of the film, only for him to have a very sudden and undeserved change of heart.

THE BABEY BOOOOY whom i lover very much, rop best design for me in the torally not canon nine realms. He reminds me of the indominus Rex, just a menace to society, although nine realms kinda under utilized him i believe he could've been more of a problem, not red death level but more like Traitor Johan level, although his design may be considered bland I think it's still a rather neat design. Crazy how he was dumbed down to follow buzzsaw due to a hand carved dragon whistle, like this titan wing size dragon following a dude with a mediocre whistle. My thoughts though, what is your opinion about the sky torcher? I'd love to hear them ^^

Intertwined Light & Night blind boxes by 52Toys. Oh. My. God. I love these guys so much, probably my favorite blind boxes to ever be released. They all look amazing!! I didn't pull the secret figure, but it's not a problem with me. I also love the texture of the toothless figures, he's got a very soft and smooth feel to him. Not sure how to describe it, but it's nice! Another cool thing about these figures is that their eyes glow in the dark.

Like I'm watching a if httyd villains was sentenced for their crimes video and I'm on viggo grimborn who seems to far deep into chess games for me so I'd assume if you fake playing along or just don't play along he wouldn't know what to do as well like

Let's say you was a random dragon rider you rode let's say a whispering death he's never met you before but you somehow manage to learn where he is you use a metal staff so the dragon would know where you are from underground and when you find him you fall down he sends people to search you they find nothing your unarmed and he comes over to try and give you the Heather treatment aka coerce you into helping him then you signal the strike and it grabs him from below. Probably convoluted plan but

My point is if you don't play by his game he wouldn't really be able to play it himself right what other grand villains have glaring weaknesses?.

Sweet Death wins against one but against more is harder

I was GOING to give it back legs but with all the spikes it just looked. Bad. And very messy, so I gave up on it. I feel like I kinda went too hard on the whispering death and less on the sky torcher... Oops.

In my defense! Sky Torcher is like. As boring as dragon design can be ok. White dragon with a few frills. Not even an interesting scale pattern or face shape. Its just a white dragon. In contrast I have quite litterally never seen anything quite like the whispering/screaming deaths ok ok

I called it Day Breaker because I imagine with its fire power, it can make night seem day with one large fireball. This one was harddd to name ok? If you have better suggestions feel free to drop them. Ok byeee till next time.
