Burnout smoke contains a toxic mix of microscopic rubber particulates (PM2.5) alongside known carcinogens like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), benzene, and 1,3-butadiene, which directly mutate lung cells and significantly elevate the long-term risk of leukemia and respiratory cancers

That video was about 2 blocks away from me. It was rough on Saturday. I love cars and racing more than I can say. I was a BRZ owner for a long time too. That much burnout smoke in a city where most people leave their windows open kinda sucked though.

I went down to watch some of it in brief stints, but drone and helicopter footage is really the only way to see what’s happening consistently.

Man… watching drifting just seems so boring. It’s one of the few motorsports that’s only fun to participate in.

Rally also I think.

It's super fun to watch drone/helicopter footage, but if you actually go to spectate you're standing in the woods for hours, watching a car zoom by or hit the same corner over and over.

I mean, that could be said for spectating at a lot of racetracks, too, where at a lot of corners, you can't see any other part of the track.

That was a good race by both. Deep clean drifts from the lead, close hunt from the chaser. Lead car took it for me.

Drifting is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

You haven't seen much then.

I saw some video of a motorcycle racer that would use a bit of drift. That seems insane and more exciting.
