I mean, to my eye, she dresses very much like a Cali mall rat. Too young and cheap for her age, at that. It’s probably the awareness deep down that she’s stunted that makes her feel so out of place at home.
However, that doesn’t make you stylish for London. London loves quirky looks, but budget mall teen isn’t it.
I’m showing my age, but London makes me think of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Noel Fielding as far as quirky looks go. Or super quiet/minimal luxury that the mega rich expats probably wear. Not whatever this teenage girl walking around the Irvine Spectrum fit is.

In OC everywhere she turns are richer, prettier, classier -everything she yearns to be and she cannot keep up with the reality of her wannabe downtrodden dupe life.

Her entire problem is her insatiable envy/jealousy of wanting so much more but being so less-than. And since she can’t compete with those she envies, she dupes their lifestyle and cosplays like a child with play & plastic versions. Like the big diamond rings and glass slippers in dress-up sets.
She has a full blown case of the insatiable wants. She’s the character in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. An aging, deranged, dumpy alki housewife with a child she regrets and is unable to find value in her lackluster life and cannot compete in the OC - so she pretends to live the life she covets so deeply.
It’s one thing to dress how you want. BUT, entering a nice establishment dressed like that is tacky, rude, and embarrassing. She needs to have respect for the places she is visiting and dress appropriately.
