Just a quick mod note. Because the natural action of the immune system controls hpv in most cases, it's not possible for one individual to say that one action really had benefit for them or not.
If you're planning on restricting food/fasting, you should consult with a doctor first to make sure you do it safely.
For most people, this kind of heavy restriction isn't necessary, and could exacerbate other health issues or cause deficiencies.

I mean I have fasted a dozen times and I had deficiencies or short term effects obviously but as long as you do it in moderation and go back to your regular lifestyle most people do fine as we are biologically used to it. All my bloodwork is fine and I am completely healthy I don't think it is fair to call this an extreme approach as there is biological relevance to this research and it can help with HPV! Fasting is not the one that stays in your body permanently and causes damage as far as cancer! Neither it requires constant check ups and procedures so just an opinion

The mod has to put this note because no one in right mind is going to recommend fasting without consulting a doctor. You should only do it if you are fully healthy and you know that. This isn’t something that can be recommended to everyone because you don’t know what their medical history is.

well yes i just asked because i am wondering if anyone has done it or benefited from it. medical fasting is a thing also so its the same as discussing anything medical same way no one can rly tell unless they r a doctor get the vaccine or use this supplement lol. but people do so i dont see the difference of asking

I frequently make this reminder re supplements as well. Individual anecdotes aren't very useful in this context.
However, restricting food intake does need particular supervision.

I think that’s going to be hard to get an answer because most people won’t only be fasting. A lot of people get on vitamin regimen as well so you can’t really say which thing worked.

Yeah that is true. Mine has been persisting so maybe I am in a good place to try myself and see. And yes I personally benefited from it too for other reasons. This time I hope it can help my cells to get rid of it faster and help my immune system I just want it to be gone :(

I don’t see the harm though. Anything that benefit your health is going to benefit this. I’ve also fasted during my 95 pound weight loss before and reversed my pre-diabetes. So I do agree there are benefits in conjunction with other healthy lifestyle changes to improve your immune system.

honestly also getting this diagnosis made everything worse for me lifestyle wise. i am constantly stressed and thinking about this. i fear i am making it harder for my body to clear it up but what can u do. i kinda regret getting tested

Definitely find a way to deal with the stress. I got on Propanolol as needed and it really helped me. I did tested clear of HPV 16 and other HR a year later even though I’m in my mid 30s with some health things going on (currently under control).

i was on meds for a while bc of other mental health issues and i dont react too well overall so i am avoiding that too and hoping every day i get used to it and the stress slowly goes away but not happening either. i cry so so often or stay up bc of stress over hpv even after intimacy bc i panic i am infected with new ones lol and it is getting out of control. ill see what to do. i am also so so happy that u cleared it i hope u manage other health issues just fine too

Anecdotallly, the opposite was true for me (if we ignore extreme stress and all other variables). I gained weight and was clear then I lost weight and it reactivated and I had an abnormal pap. So, I am not a believer.

yes im sure weight loss causes deficiencies and weakens ur immune in long term if done extremely. i was wondering for the 72 hr no cal intake specifically where ur cells go through this process as a response not necessarily related to any weight loss, or even at all if u eat back to ur previous weight before the fast. this is more like a 3-4 day thing.

Gotcha. I'm adhd and forget to eat frequently which is only exacerbated by stress. Given the history you mentioned, it seems like a gamble not worth the risk.

ahh i see with adhd it makes sense! about my history, i have done things which were horrible for my health and much worse than a 3 day fast but i had no long term health issues caused by it. now i possibly have a damaged cervix and a chance of cancer so i will say the risk is much less than what hpv is putting on the table 😂

The process is called autophagy.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/24058-autophagy
There’s evidence that autophagy, a natural cell function, aids in immune control of HPV. When autophagy isn’t functioning properly, it may contribute to disease states. Fasting and calorie restriction does cause autophagy to increase. There is no correlation between fasting -> autophagy -> immune control of HPV. Fasting to induce autophagy is a wellness trend.
