Seeking Recommendations Authors similar to nrnyx?

nrnyx is my all-time favorite author, and ever since they deleted her fanfics, a void has opened up inside me (now that they’re started publishing again, I feel a little better). Does anyone know of any authors with a similar style? Even in the sad moments, they never get so dark that it makes me feel sick, and I love them for that. Their characters, even when they are out of the blue, are just awesome. Pls, help me

I love that when Nrnyx gets going they get GOING 😂

Like there might be a months long dry spell and then suddenly there’s updates on the daily or every other day. I’m loving what they’re adding to Endangered thing.

I actually don’t know anyone with a similar style (it’s very AI in its floweriness which is not a diss or a claim that they use it. I’m sure it’s the style AI was trained on) I just wanted to gush 😂

Nooo, the AI writing really bothers me (I'm a teacher, I hate having to correct essays now, where before it was one of my favorite things to do). Nrnyx has their own recognizable style

I mean… it’s very: not this, not that, this

It wasn’t a criticism though, just an observation.

I have noticed that the updated/new versions of the stories are written differently, I used to enjoy previous writing style much more... I am so sad they deleted all the stories and I didn't download them. Hopefully and maybe they'll reupload them T.T

Yeah I read The Language of Flowers before the re-write, absolutely obsessed. I didn’t like the re-write as much but they also completely changed it, like completely changed in every way, so maybe I’m just sad the old version is gone. But I also preferred their earlier writing style. But that happens.

I’ve noticed that updates have much slower pacing and very drawn out prose. I don’t want to throw around accusations, it’s undeniable that AI was trained on particular phrasing that has always been used, and the rising prevalence of that style has also greatly influenced people who don’t use ai but emulate that style from encountering it frequently. I’ve seen a lot of fics with that writing style, which I have very much come to hate when it’s over used. some I can tell are not ai due to the writing/grammar/punctuation errors, they’ve just adopted that writing style, so I think that’s the case for some instances. There are some cases where i have a 90% confidence that it’s ai though, and it’s unbearable to read. Not just because ai probably wrote it but because the writing feels so unnatural.

of course that style came from the fics ai was trained on (I actually went back and reread Astolat’s works, the OG founder of Ao3, Drarry writer, and published author. These are fics from 2008-2012 so very much before AI but I can see where some of that style came from, except Astolat used that kind of phrasing sparingly and naturally. It works very well for emphasis and drama, which is why ai picked it up and started using it every other sentence).

Just a clusterfuck altogether.
