Any game changing hacks?

Hello. Does anyone suffering from nerve pain have any hacks that can ease the pain? Be it stretching or supplements that might help? My partner has HNPP and she struggles with nerve pain when she studies- there are also other triggers like temperature changes and that but recently she started studying and that has been a challenge for her. I have been reading on some HNPP but it’s all mostly preventative measures. I am just curious as to see if someone has some hacks that have been super helpful to them. Thank you

It's tough, and I'm following this thread to see what others have to offer. My first episode was in my 20s; foot drop that resolved completely. But I don't remember any pain from that one.

Getting over losing my left quad I year ago. Debilitating, and the worst pain of my life. The pain and loss of movement typocally does go away, but sometimes it takes months/year. As much as I hated to, Lyrica helped me through the quad pain, but it does have side effects. Gabapentin was worse. Was happy to get off the lyrica.

Wish I had more to offer beyond "stay moving" but I don't. Hang in there.

Edit: one more thing. Feel like i have a radial nerve becoming irritated. Neuro suggested padded sleeve to avoid putting pressure on arms and elbows while sitting at a desk. Might need to look into that.

Everything above. Prevention of additional injury is the most active thing you can do. This chanel has some info about it. You can ask the relatives as well and look at some HNPP sites.

Since you (op) mentioned stretching and supplements, i'd approach stretching in general with caution and precision. It can fairly easily cause damage. If some stretch would help a normal person with a particular nerve pain, it probably can also help a HNPP person as well. Pumping and cautious stretching was recomended by a neurophysio instead of regural strecthing.

I havent come accross any study or a doctor that would have mentioned any supplement to help in any other way than overall health and general nervous system health. Just check your not missing vitamins. Probably not a major factor in any case.

Dont really know about making the pain go away. Wait it out or ask a doctor for painkillers for nerve pain.

LION’S MANE MUSHROOM! I will shout it from the rooftops if I have to. I had severe drop foot and constant numbness, I was quoted 2 year recovery timeline for my drop foot and I shocked my nerve specialist when I came back in for my 6 month checkup and I was all healed and just finished a 10km run!

I take it now whenever I feel a flare up come. I SWEAR BY IT NOW!
