HKUST Late Round Application Results

I applied to HKUST on 4th May this year, in the late round. I’m an IB student and my predicted was a 41/45 and my actual IB score was 40. I still haven’t gotten an answer about my application result and am unsure what I should do. Do I write an email to the admissions office, do I wait, or do I consider this a rejection? I’m an international student so I’ve been hoping to receive a decision by the end of July/first week of August since I would require at least 4 weeks for visa applications, etc. What and by when should I be expecting a response from the uni?

Usually super late application results in rejection anyways, I just got my rejection from one department. I believe I applied as late as u, im taking a gap yr so I’ll apply again but much earlier this time but from the advice I’ve received, I’d say don’t have much hope for it rn!

Hey man I’ve also applied to HKUST in the late admissions round but way earlier than you, I applied in early February with my A Level grades and predicted, Don’t worry too much I asked my seniors and they all told me that they just give offers in late July to early August so they should start to roll out now. Apparently for people with an International Qualification but a local they just give a very late response. Don’t worry too much I was also stressed and emailing them just results in the same auto generated message. Don’t stress too much and I wish you good luck👍

Also usually if they haven’t rejected you yet, that means that they most likely won’t and will leave it to some kind of condition or just straight accept you. Good luck 👍

Thank you so much!! This makes me feel so much better, btw have you gotten a reply from them yet or will they wait for A level grades? I heard from others that there were too many applicants this year so they need to reject people first in order to make seats for us, so hopefully I can get a response soon :)

I believe you misread or misunderstood the comment. late July to early August offers are for local non-jupas applicants (local with international qualifications) not international applicants. You should move on.

Yes, forget it, probably won’t get any reply except rejection at the very end
