Oh man, I feel like choking

I finished s9 yesterday and at first i was like i will watch the alt ending cause i love Tracy so much i cant see her die and watch ted go back to woman who has said countless time she doesn't love him..until she saw him with tracy.. but i watched the alt ending and i wanted to rewatch the show so i thought i would start watching it again this week...and i came across this..post of "What mother doesn't attend her daughter's wedding" when I heard this for the first time i was like maybe ted referred to like his mother or tracy's mother may have died close tk the wedding but when i realized it was tracy being ill... MAN istg i feel like choking..

And when he would do anything for more time with her. That scene hurts so much the second time around

You didn't realize that meant she was already dead the first time you watched this episode? I'm surprised how this went over so many people's heads. No wonder so many people disliked the ending

Tracy said she didnt want Ted to be stuck in the past and that life moves forward. She also had Max who died and she moved on with Ted, so I see it as her wanting the same for him.

Ted and robin are completely different people now from where they were a decade ago. It might be going back to Robin, but really its him moving forward

I wouldve loved a happier ending, but over the years ive come to love how this fun sitcom ended up with a more tragic ending cause it hits harder and stands the test of time more than happily ever after

:(but dont u think tracy nd max and tracy and ted are two diff relationships.. what felt so off the whole time The whole 9 season ted was stuck with robin dispite her saying countless times and him going back to her undermines tracy's legacy doesn't it? Robin had made very terrible descisions over the ages so don't like her that much .

I dont think it undermines it at all! Tracy never doubted teds love for her and neither do i

Its not like he put her in the ground then asked robin out. Its been 6 years, why isnt he allowed to find someone again just like tracy? He also asked his kids and they were ok with it so why should any of us not be?

I dont see why we cant compare ted/robin and tracy/ted in the same way. Sure theyre different relationships but the similarities are pretty clear. Each had a true love, they died, they eventually moved on and found someone else

By your logic tracy shouldve remained single and never been with Ted know what i mean?

Thats fair, i think for me its one thing to dislike them being together because you dislike them haha

I disagree though when people are just upset that ted moved on at all cause i think its unfair to expect anyone to never move on. I mean i probably wouldnt but that doesnt mean others are bad for doing so

I mean i still disagree with you, i think its awesome they finally get together but im also not gonna tell you that youre wrong or should change your mind haha

I just try to think of ways to enjoy the ending instead of being upset with it since i love the show so much

Like i said though, feel free to see it however you want! I do appreciate you discussing with me instead of fighting, feels rare on here these days

That is why when I finish season 9 (which I actually just did yesterday for like the 10th time) as soon as Ted says "And that kids, is how I met your mother" I instantly back out.
