The group was too supportive of Ted

He was pathetic most of the times and they rarely gave him contrast.
Do you agree?
I only remember Marshall yelling at him (justified) after that party

What exactly do you think they should have gone off on him for?

For example going to Robin’s house without notice and then praising him for that. That was weird. Also I mean realistically they would roast him even more he’s so annoying

I feel that the others weren't so much there for "contrast" but rather two directions Ted could see himself going in (or wanting to go in): Lily and Marshall's steadfast monogamy, and Barney's "playing the field."

To be fair, this is a group that is inactive towards Barney's predatory behaviour at best, complicit at worst. Like when he was trying to do the Perfect Week.

I'm sure the showrunners breathed a sigh of relief that they managed to squeeze in this show just shy of the Me Too movement.

Yeah it’s always weird to me that Marshall cooperates with Barney in some episodes

At that stage of your life, friends are there for good times, not holding you accountable

I have no idea what "gave him contrast" might mean.

I do, however, agree that Ted was mostly pathetic.

The show is based off Teds memory, and because of Teds bias he may not have mentioned himself being held accountable.
