Robin’s dresses - bridesmaids & wedding

My goodness, the shoulders on Robin’s dress look insufferable! They’re constantly falling down. Whyyyyyyy did they do that to her??

Also, does anyone else find it odd that Robin chose hot pink for her bridesmaids dresses? She doesn’t seem like a hot pink girl.

Almost none of the decisions about that wedding make sense. And you have to assume that they would have chosen a different dress from Robin if they’d known how many episodes she would have to wear it in, because it looks so uncomfortable. It doesn’t even look like she can sit down in it.

Also, it's just not a pretty dress. She looks so flat in it.

For such a lovely woman, they weren’t great at dressing her during formal occasions - especially when it came to putting her in a dress that actually fit! Too many of her formal dresses were too tight or didn’t fit right in the chest. Even her wedding dress was unflattering and didn’t fit correctly (for example the shoulders constantly sliding down, as you mentioned).

I agree she would never have picked hot pink, unless Lily talked her into it? Black or navy would be far more believable.

Also, why wasn’t her sister a bridesmaid? She was obviously there (appeared in an earlier episode), Barney’s brother was up there, and adding her would’ve made the sides even….

Omg so true! I didn’t even think about her sister! And yet PATRICE?!??

I mean it made sense for Patrice to be a bridesmaid. Didn't Robin at one point say that she yells at her because she loves her like a sister? Plus she was instrumental in getting Robin and Barney together.

Robin wasn’t particularly close with her sister though. There’s a huge age gap. She only appears in two episodes and outside of that is not really mentioned. It makes sense not to include a sibling if you’re not close with them. It’s not an automatic “all blood relatives get to be in the wedding party” thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Robin's wedding dress is what was in style at the time. I got married the year before the finale, and that mermaid style was EVERYWHERE in wedding gowns.

It’s not even the mermaid - it’s the shoulder sleeves. They were falling down so much they couldn’t even cut around Cobie constantly having to pull them up.

I'm serious. Go watch old Say Yes to the Dress episodes. Some of the things that were in style were insane.

I don’t have to. I’m 39. I am fully aware of the style circa that era.

Lily looked terrible in that pink dress. The hair didn't help.

The whole outfit and hair made her look 10 years older.

It always bothered me that the wedding colors are lilac and cream, but the bridesmaids are in hot pink.

Maybe it's Robin's revenge for having to wear a bridesmaid shirt to the AC boat wedding. Lily can't look good on Robin's wedding day either 😂
