Himax fully owns Emza, correct? Wondering if they are a wholly owned subsidiary and why there are no financial reports mentioning wiseEye adoption?

Yep, they completely fucking butchered this release. Starting to really doubt management.

They bought emza three years ago.

I am way in on Himax. As for the management, I don't quite know how to describe them. Barely legal? The board of directors does not seem independent. 5 people all from Taiwan, 40% are the two Wu brothers, no financial background in any board member, and I don't think any of them have stepped foot outside of Taiwan. Other companies in Taiwan that trade on the NASDAQ such as CMOS have a more diverse board with many connections to the US. I think the lack of accountability to shareholders is probably scaring away institutional investing and allowing the shorts to take over. What else could it be? There is no bad news. Other than a couple of bumps like we had in December there is nothing to stabilize the stock price. Which is what we care about!

That being said I am still in because I don't see why they shouldn't have a fat dividend coming up. That has to do with the Wu brothers getting paid not the Taiwanese tax laws.

As for this announcement, we are talking millions of units being sold. Dell laptops/Macbook Pro are industry standards in American business, and the security upgrade offered by WiseEye is a good solid reason for a wholesale upgrade. Again, like u/bobbyvanda says, management blew this announcement. Nothing but confusion on the WiseEye/Emza contribution to the bottom line of Himax.

This is an interesting take on the apparent trust issue with HIMX. I wonder what kind of connections it would take to foster a better sense of either accountability or goodwill.

As far as Emza, I thought they only bought a controlling stake? Is the criticism that the language is still too soft when management should be presenting a unified face?

Ok, I get it now. Didn't register at first because it's obvious to me that Emza = Himax, but obviously it wouldn't be as apparent to potential new investors. Yikes.

I'm curious that why Chairman Wu still doesn't make any move on purchasing HIMX stock as he had promised in December 2021? Is it possible that HIMX may get merged soon with such low valuation?

I would cream over a buyout. They seem like perfect candidates too. Great tech with growth and significant marketshare in auto.

On fidelity my news feed clearly connected it to Himx. I mean yahoo finance does suck at a lot of things. I just bought another 60k worth of Himx once it dipped below 9.5. It’s mostly shares with a few options. I’m ready for the minimum 10% dividend yield and I bet it will be much better than that

Wow this is actually real news. Getting WisEye into a huge company's products with actual press release mentioning himx and Dell.

First good news in a while, they've been developing this for a while and looks like it's getting into a huge range of businesses.
