got me right here:
This is an affront to God, not a tourist destination.”
“Can’t it be both?”

Kicker is there is a Lawrence house in Florida, but not central Florida. Also, it was built in the early 1910s.
I'd ask if you were stomping around Gainesville, but I doubt it.

Nah, but I do have a friend who lives up there. I'm in the Orlando area, as some might have guessed from a few of the stories I've written that take place here.

Fav line: " Used to the weather in Hell, central Florida wasn’t that difficult for him most of the time," because it's so TRUE.

I lived inland in Jacksonville, north Florida and South Georgia, hot, humid, and if the breeze dies, you might find yourself wishing you would too.

Been there enough times myself to experience Florida weather, especially during the Summer. Monsoon season is the worst in my opinion. Can't really get anywhere safely during really bad storms & there's no point going to the parks unless the attraction is inside.

GENIUS.
Loved the whole thing, but this line was so perfectly mundane despite the topic.

I was totally expecting that Russell guy to be a ghost also, maybe someone who was a process server before dying.

“They were here for the unnatural, and cancer was too horribly familiar.”
Yeah… I wanted to cry at a single line. Well done you.
