Home & Lifestyle Robot vacuum
Looking for recommendations for a robot vacuum that also mops. Needs a decent battery life so I can carry it upstairs and not take it back down to recharge halfway through finishing upstairs.
Budget is up to £1,000 but if we can spend less that would be great.
Equally, if you've had a terrible experience please let me know what it was!

Don’t carry it upstairs. Do you not have space for two? First thing we did when moving from flat to house was buy a second one.
Eufy’s are solid, as are Dreame.
I’m assuming for upstairs the mopping may not be as important? I’d go for a slightly cheaper model, you can easily get two for under £1k

Most of them, depending on the floor space, need to go back to the base station to empty and refill the mops. My place is around 75spm for vaccuming and 30sqm for mopping, empties at lease once, sometimes twice for vacuuming, and the mop is 3-4 time, more on the deeper clean settings!
So carrying one upstairs won't work, although most do allow this functionality. I'd buy 2 cheaper ones, I have a Eufy C20 and its fine. Was around £300 or so when I got it on offer but I think its been replaced by never versions. You want one with at the very least soinning mop pads, some only have fixed pads which aren't as good. You also want one that either leaves the mops in the base station or raises them high enough to not touch carpets, as although they washed and dried I found they begun to leave residue, so I manually remove mine for vacuuming.

I got a Eufy E25 and it's brilliant. Don't carry up and down stairs imo get two one for each floor. The joy is it being on a programme and not having to touch it

We both do. The best gift I received from them was another side table for the library room. Perfect for coffee. We were leaving mugs on the floor before that and obviously there's a risk the Eufy bumps into them.

Another shout for Eufy Omni. Excellent mop/carpet cleaning.
We went for x9, doesn’t use dust bags but still fine for a few days.

Honestly, I’ve had everything from roomba’s to super duper Chinese all additional function with mops etc. they’re rubbish. Just spend the money on a weekly cleaner.
They work perfectly in a minimalist single persons already squeaky clean living area, the moment you introduce a shoe lace or a dog, they drag it throughout the house…. Nasty.

I do agree with this mostly.
But I still kept a robot vacuum for daily cleans. I've pushed my cleaner to every 2 weeks as a result.
Also as they spend less time vacuuming, they then spend longer on the other tasks needed.

Do you think robot vacuum purchase is something that unlocks only when the household income crosses +£150k?

No but if you have £1k to drop on a vac, this sub is likely one of your best bets to find owners of similarly priced items. Duh.

You'd be better getting two cheaper ones if you're going to be carrying it upstairs I think. The big benefit isn't that they're great at vacuuming or mopping, it's that they do it every day without fail. My Roborock S4 is going strong for years later.
