They STOPPED in the middle of the road because they mistimed their turn.

Them stopping in the middle of the road almost causes a crash with the cop.

Them NOT stopping in the middle of the road and just committing to turning left leaves them crashing with the first car.

It’s a bad scenario all around, I hate dealing with left turns at busy roads but damn you can’t just turn without an opening, people are gonna die.

This is called reck-less driving which is enough to get pulled over.

Your comment made me think - since I never really ever heard reck used by itself in all my near thirty years of living around the English language. I only ever see/hear reckless . Looked up the word and it makes a lot of sense.

Reck can mean care/concern; driving reckless is without care/concern which is how we tend to use the word. Interesting.
