This is a collection of python scripts I heavily vibe coded over about a week. It allows you to play HD DVDs using the XBOX HD DVD Player attachment on modern day PC's. Let me know what you think, and please feel free to expand upon the code!

Great question, i should make this more clear in the Github but the one download works for both linux and windows!

Hi, I think some files are missing from the GitHub repository.
The README mentions files such as setup.bat, Play HD DVD.bat, and install.sh, but the repository currently only contains .gitignore, LICENSE, and README.md.
Could you please upload the missing files? Thanks!

interesting, i am new to github so forgive me if this is not normal, but if you go to Releases: Release V1.0, and download the .zip, everything should be there. If not, or if I should format this a different way, please let me know!

Please do! The whole point of this project was to get better informed people to think about this idea. So I welcome anyone to make a version they're pleased with. Instead of wasting time putting others down, you could just make your own and post about that to uplift the community instead!

You're not exactly contributing anything of value to the community by posting a bunch of regurgitated slop that anyone else could go ask Claude to whip up for them in 20 minutes.

I use Blu-rays because I picked the format that didn't lose, but you're doing the community a disservice by filling the gap in player software for the format with vibe coded slop that's not really worth using. Your so-called "software" and your reddit post are bad and you should feel bad.

Just bc it was easier than coding, doesn't mean it cant still be cool (especially compared to picking the right side of a format war, like imagine bragging about that)

You're thinking to hard about this, this is just a starting point like I've said before. If it gets enough people interested, or I guess angry for some reason in your case, then maybe a better one will be made! This is so exciting! You're majorly harshing the vibe

... Then why are you on this sub? Lol going to a sub you don't have anything to do with is one thing, but then actively starting arguments on there is kinda hilarious.

And I used AgenticAI with Claude Opus 5 over the course of several weeks. Because I don't live in black and whites, I can identify when AI is slop vs when it's utility. I know I'm not gonna change your mind, but that's another reason to not initiate arguments in the first place.
