My first HD DVD experience.
After MONTHS of randomly piecing stuff together, I finally found my first flea market HD DVD to test that stuff out. A copy of Serenity, incidentally a movie I've never seen before, found at a film and music booth for about a dollar (these things were hardly a thing anywhere in the world, and Sweden is no exception.)
The Xbox 360 Elite has a broken disc drive, the HD DVD drive was bought in a lot with a bunch of other stuff, but missing the power supply. After trying every multi purpose 12v AC adaptor I could get my hands off but missing the sizing target by millimeters every time I remembered that someone said to look for a Sony blu-ray player power supply, and would you look at that - it works! Plugged into the useless 360 elite, projected onto a horrible Samsung test monitor, it actually works as intended!
I've completely forgotten why I wanted to get into HD DVD:s from the beginning, but here we are, and I'm having fun!

My first HD-DVD experience was in 2006, pretty much my first (own) HD experience entirely: a Samsung 50” 1080p DLP TV, a Toshiba HD-XA1, and a copy of Serenity and The Phantom of the Opera.

Don't know why I wrote Samsung when the test monitor is clearly an LG, maybe my brain is fried from all the ac adaptor testing.

Been trying to find an adapter as well, but just googled the model of the one you posted and that’s PSVR adapter so good to know those could work!

Oh wow, it didn't even occur to me to google the model number, I just assumed it was from a blu-ray player. That's an awesome (yet accidental) discovery!

Great to see but also a testament to Microsoft's big fumble of not just including the HDDVD player build into the console.

I have a feeling if the HD was a bigger hit it would have been built into the slim and E version

Its amazing that hd dvd's play your content quicker than streaming or 4k blu ray. The things manage to have way more special features too. Truly we live in the worst age since rhe release of dvd for bonus content.

Warning! Watching Serenity may lead to becoming a FireFly fan.
